Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 12/31/23, and the pictures were taken on 12/30/23.  Paxton was found dumped in Alto, TX around the first part of December 2023, and surrendered to us on 12/11/23.  The owner was found, and the sheriff got involved.  He had dumped other dogs as well. Paxton is very sweet with people, will follow a person around without a leash, and does ok on a leash, but he needs more work on a leash.  He is good with other dogs both male and female, and has not tried to dig under or climb over the 4 foot fence he is in.  House training and cats are unknown.  His breed is unsure, but his coat color and body shape could resemble a Catahoula Mix.  Treeing Walker Hounds have longer ears than he has, which the saddle color on his body resembles that breed some.  Paxton was estimated to have been born in June 2022, he was neutered on 12/22/23, and is current on vaccinations. $25 adoption fee, since a donation was made to help with his veterinary care.August 17, 2024, 3:46 pm

Story
LOCATION: Cleveland, TexasDOB: 11/30/2022Looking for a Dane-sized heart in a more manageable package? Look no further than Copper, the pint-sized powerhouse with a Copper merle coat that'll steal your heart!General Personality:Copper's a goofy boy, like Bambi on ice – all hoppy, floppy, and legs everywhere! He's got a voice and isn't shy about using it, especially when he needs to go out (cue the adorable nose boops). But here's the twist: Copper moonlights as a squirrel watchdog – nothing escapes his keen gaze!Disposition:Foster siblings? No problem! Copper's the social butterfly who flits between x-large and small pups. Cats? He's chill – both indoors and out. Horses? Well, they make him a tad nervous. Outside playtime? His jam! And when work calls, Copper's content to pile up on his dog bed, supervising his foster mom's productivity.Stranger Danger and Food Motivation:Copper's cautious around new faces, but he aced the pet sitter test (thanks to those pre-meetings). Food? His love language! From inhaling kibble (starvation history, poor guy) to soft-mouthed treat-taking, he's a foodie. Just keep hats away – he's not a fan!Ideal Home:Soft-spoken vibes and lower activity levels suit Copper. He's selective about his people, but sharing care duties helps him warm up. Kids? Uncertain, but older ones or a calm household might be his groove.Training:Housebroken? Check. Leash manners? Impeccable (no pulling!). Name recall? Kiss noises do the trick. Commands? Sit, lay down, no, kennel, bed, and let's go – he's a quick study!Likes:Ear scratches, cuddles, plush beds, and his foster mom's pocket (yes, really!). Plus, Copper's the chase-and-wrestle champ with his pack.Dislikes:Car rides – but he's compact enough for a lift. Reassuring pats ease his nerves. And hey, he's working on truck-jumping skills!Favorite Toys:His kevlar shark and soft steals from foster siblings. Reinforced fabric toys? Copper-approved (think Kong-type heavy canvas).Fun Fact: Copper's convinced hats are alien headgear – keep him hat-free for a harmonious home!Ready to welcome Copper's big heart into your cozy abode? He's waiting to be your velcro pupper – apply now! ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. Story
Archie is a very good and active family pet who has been very loved for the past five years. While not a fault in any way, my elderly mother is unfortunately not able to meet his activity level and he would thrive in a home with people who are able to have regular active play with him. He is very playful and talkative (not barking) and gets along with the six cats he has lived with for years.

Story
Hi! My name is Debbie, and I'm a bit of a THICC girl. I like my food! What can I say?! I was rescued from a high kill shelter in Tyler, Texas, and I was expected to be euthanized the very next day. These nice people picked me up and I've been waiting for my furever home ever since.  I can be a bit choosy when it comes to my furiends. A girl doesn't have to like everyone! Am I right? I do love to see those tiny humans though, you know, the short ones! They give the best hugs, which I like.  I like to keep my nose busy on our walks and sniff out everything around.  I love going for car rides, especially if we are going to get ice cream!! Girls Gotta Eat! I am still hoping my furever family is out there looking for a thicc girl like me.  ##1785788##
