Meet Buck, a 1-year-old, 40-pound bundle of love who’s ready to steal your heart! Despite a tough start—he was abandoned and even survived being shot in the leg—Buck has made an incredible recovery. While he has a slight limp, it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Buck is an extremely loving, playful, and happy pup who adores everyone he meets. He’s great with dogs of all sizes, showing respectful boundaries and even winning over the grumpiest of canine friends. While he hasn’t been around children, his friendly and playful personality suggests he’d do well in a home with kids. However, Buck does love to jump up to give hugs, so he’d be best paired with kids of an appropriate age. His reaction to cats is unknown, but Buck has proven to be adaptable, quickly learning to get along with a variety of personalities he’s encountered so far. This sweet boy is crate-trained, though it takes him a little time to settle in—he just loves being close to his people. Buck isn’t much of a barker, but he may express his feelings about being left alone. He’s mostly potty trained but uses subtle cues when he needs to go, so you’ll want to keep an eye out. At the end of the day, Buck’s favorite thing is snuggling up with his loved ones, ideally while getting a good belly rub. Grace was surrendered to us due to her owner's health. A friend took her in, but discovered she doesn't do well with other dogs and is aggressive towards cats. She has unique features, and luckily her previous owner had a DNA test done! We would never have guessed, but her most dominant breeds are Catahoula leopard dog and pit bull. Grace is a very sweet girl who loves to play and can get very silly when she's in the right mood! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. Hello everyone! Meet Leb, a very special boy and recent graduate! In the past, Leb demonstrated severe fear and under socialization and required specialized treatment at the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center (BRC). After receiving critical care from the ASPCA, Leb graduated from the program and is now in DCHS`s care and ready for a loving adopter! Leb is a big fan of walks, treats, and he LOVES toys! He can still be shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up he`s the biggest goofball. Since graduating from his program, Leb has met and played with other dogs and people, and has had a blast doing so. Because he is so nervous, a home with young kids may be too much for him. Leb would greatly benefit from adopters who are willing to be patient with him and let him adjust to the home in his own time. He would also benefit from positive reinforcement training in the home to continue building his confidence and learning good puppy manners! If you are looking for a loving and goofy dog to bring into your home, and you`re willing to give him the time he needs to blossom into his own confident pup, then Leb might be the right fit for you!
