I am a special girl with a unique and exquisite look. I am either deaf or very hard of hearing so I am often in my own little world and appear to ignore you; I am really not trying to be aloof. I came to WCHS as a stray and am now ready to find my new forever home. I am content with calm and polite dogs and have done well in playgroups when the other pooches are not crazy and rambunctious. I also did some travelling with a respectful and debonaire gentle-dog named Chulo; we were strays together. But even though we are good pals we do not need to find a home together. I am a tender soul who is a bit shy so I will need a family who is patient and willing to give me the time I need to get comfortable in new situations. I am a friendly girl who enjoys taking walks with humans; my ears may not work so well but my nose is in tiptop shape. I do like soft scratches and gentle cuddles but I am no fan of restraint or hugs; I find that a bit confining and hope you will respect my personal space. I will also need my family to be careful not to startle me since I do not hear people approaching me; some pooches do well with a vibration collar that can provide a gentle means of notification. That could also help when we are out walking because it is sometimes difficult to get my attention. I am a charming gal with so much love to give and I know I can bring joy and sunshine to your home. Gracie is a 9 Catahoula leopard mix, her favorite time is that spent with humans. Either laying around or playing in the yard. As long as shes got her people she's 100% happy! With that being said Gracie has had some challenges along the way, she is completely deaf, but don't let that be the reason you're not adopting her! She knows some basic hand signs, She does good with children. Gracie would prefer a home with no other animals. She has no experience with cats. Gracie needs a fenced yard or a way to keep her safe outside since she's deaf. She is potty trained and crate trained. Gracie is UTD on vaccines and is spayed and microchipped. Bleu is listed on our web site as a courtesy post for his current owner. He is not part of Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary, but we are helping his owner find him a new home. Please contact Jeanne at jeannekvam@yahoo.com or call her at 612-280-3859 to find out more about Bleu. The following is written by Bleau's owner: Bleu is approximately 3 years and 8 months of age. He is very good with young children and learns to leave cats alone. He is energetic and loves to do 360 degree flips. He has been to training, and he knows many commands: off, stay, sit, drop, wait, spin, come and more. He also knows hand signals. He uses a training collar that sends impulses not shocks. The trainer said he is probably part Catahoula Leopard with one blue and one brown eye. He is loving and stays out of trouble for the most part. If left alone for a while he kennels very well. He has a big heart and came from a very bad situation. I have had him for 3 years. The issue is that he does not get a long with my resident Blue Tick Coon Hound. Otherwise I would keep him. He would do best with room to run. When he has gotten out of my yard he has always come back if in ear shot and called. He loves car rides. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
