Zima has been a true warrior for the past seven months having endured so much trauma. She was scheduled to be euthanized at an animal control due to injuries on her legs and unknown temperment. She was semi feral and untrusting of people. Once in foster, it was soon discovered that she was deaf. One of her eyes is blind due to past ulcers. After several unsuccessful attempts at healing her wounds, the vets thought it was best to amputate her back leg. Since she is FIV+, it took several visits to fight the infections that came about after her surgery. But she persevered and once her pain was gone,she became a completely different cat. Zima is now a very sweet and affectionate cat. She loves to be petted. In fact, she demands it with her head butts to your hands. It is easy to startle her since she can't hear. She would do best in a quiet home without other pets or children that might scare her. She is not able to jump up very high. In order to get up on the bed, she needs to step on something first. Not a fan of being picked up, but she will hang out next to you begging for affection. She is now starting to play. Zima also prefers a private space where she can retreat to feel safe. She is looking for someone who has patience to gain her trust and know her limitations and needs. Zima is a very special cat and just seeks happiness after everything that she has been through.
