Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. Story
We adopted this adorable chocolate lab, husky, pit mix in early February when he was just 3.5 months old. He was fostered by a family 5 children and his siblings so he was used to dogs and children from the start, which we needed. He knows sit and is learning come, stay, & shake. He loves his puppy sister and our children however, he has become quite protective of our family and now gets nervous and anxious when others come into our home. This causes him to bark, incessantly. We took advice from a relative who works with foster animals but I was recently diagnosed with brain cancer and am in the middle of treatment and we just can’t give him the training he needs over the next year. So we are looking for a home where someone can give him the proper tools to be the wonderful dog we know he is!

Kirby is a 4 1/2 month old puppy that is such a sweetie pie. He's a big,soft boy that is catching onto housetraining quickly and learning to sleep in a crate at night. He loves to go for walks and does well offleash on acreage or with a leash and harness in town. He loves to snuggle on the couch and be with people.
