Story
Jack (DOB: 9/21) was brought to the shelter 9/22, as an owner surrender, at 1 year old. He was hit by a vehicle and suffered injuries requiring surgery which his owner could not afford. He has long since recovered from his physical injuries and wants nothing more than to find a special home suited to his needs. He weighs 70 lbs. Jack knows the basic commands of sit and shake. He is eager to please and has decent focus, so if someone is willing to work with him, he could definitely make progress in this area. Jack is a powerful dog who tends to pull on his walks, so his leash manners are also a work in progress. Jack is wonderful with humans and really loves people. However, due to his strength and size, placement with smaller children would not be advised. Jack does not do well with other animals, so Jack would need to be the only animal in the home. In the shelter, Jack resides in a calm, controlled room with a TV and music, away from other dogs as a result of his reactivity to other dogs. He is walked alone and exercises in a play area without other dogs. His very special adopter would need previous experience with large breed dogs who can have tendencies to be extremely strong, energetic, resourceful, agile, and determined. The preferred adopter will need to reinforce consistent structure, develop his obedience skills, and socialize him in new environments and work on his reactivity to other dogs. The reason we adore this boy is that he will reel you in with his soft eyes and adorable jowly face. If you sit in his room for five minutes, he will snuggle up against you like he just can't get close enough. Bring him a treat, and watch his eyes get the size of half dollars while he slowly takes the treat as gentle as a lamb. He is extremely attached to his emotional support squeaky toy so more of those in his new home is a must. Jack is the kind of dog who will be intensely devoted to his family; a true velcro dog. Jack is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Jack has not been crate trained but only goes to the bathroom outside of his confined space. It's highly likely he could be house trained.

Story
BabyRuth is a 4 month old pup that arrived at the shelter on June 1st with her two siblings. We believe she is a Labrador mix but whatever, she is 100% adorable. We have started obedience lesson and she is so eager to please and learn, especially with those great treats as a reward. We are going to introduce her and her siblings to dogs in our playgroup to make sure they are social with other dogs. We like to give our pups and dogs training and socialization to give them a paws up to join their forever homes. She has been introduced to playgroups and loves playing with other dogs.
