Story
I’m George! I’m a 4-year-old, 60-pound Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, but everyone just calls me the biggest mush ball you’ll ever meet. My favorite things in life? Belly rubs, snuggles, and soaking up all the love you have to give. I’m ridiculously soft, so don’t be surprised if you can’t resist petting me all the time—I certainly won’t complain! I’m a friendly guy who gets along great with other dogs, and I’m always ready to make new friends, human or canine. When it’s time for a walk, I’m happy to join you and, with a little guidance, I do well on the leash. If you’re looking for a big-hearted, sweet, and snuggly companion, I might just be your perfect match. I can’t wait to find a forever home where I can be part of the family and share all the love I have to give. Could that be with you? Let’s find out—I’m ready to be your new best friend! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

These pups are in Poughkeepsie, New York too!

Story
Who'd like to give this good boy a high five? Benny is always down to make new friends and, let's be honest, he prefers high fives over boring handshakes any day. Because why shake when you can give someone five? He's just cool like that. Benny is a regular Chatty Cathy who will happily give you the play-by-play of his day, including every single toy he's tested (he's basically a toy influencer). Whether it squeaks, bounces, or crinkles, Benny knows them all, and his toy reviews? Top-notch.When it comes to other pups, Benny's not into the rough and rowdy crowd-he prefers a laid-back playmate who shares his zen vibes. So, if you're interested in a chill companion who can give you his life story at a moments notice, then Benny could be your new bestie!
