Story
(DOB 11/20/2024) Due to Penny’s young age, she has not yet been spayed. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Did you say retriever??? Are you ready to meet the most energetic, lovable, and slightly goofy puppy on the block? Well, here comes Penny Princess, the Chesapeake Bay Retriever with a personality as big as her dreams! Penny is ready to find her forever home, and she's looking for an active family with another wonderful, playful or spunky dog who can keep up with her playful spirit! She has that beautiful copper penny coat, little waves in her hair and little webbie-like feet. Penny is still a puppy, which means she’s full of energy, curiosity, and the occasional puppy mischief. This girl is super smart, always eager to please, and has enough energy to power a small city. She’d love a family who knows how to channel her energy into fun activities and lots of playtime. Structured positive reinforcement training puppy classes and socialization would be fantastic for her and her human. Penny needs an active family who can keep up with her playful nature and give her the attention and training she deserves. She’d do well with experienced dog owners who are ready to guide her through the puppy stage and provide lots of opportunities for fun and learning. Penny most definitely wants a fenced in yard for all of her energy and to play with her other doggie friends and her family members. No fence - no go!! While she’s not fully potty trained yet, she can make it through the night in her crate without any accidents – go Penny! Reminder, Penny is still a puppy and going through teething and bite inhibition stages, so she still nippy and mouthy and this is all totally normal. Her family will need to monitor and ensure plenty of proper toys, teething items and redirection. Patience is key with puppies! When she’s not in full zoomie mode, Penny loves to cuddle up and snuggle with her people. She might just flop down next to you for a nap after burning off all that puppy energy! Penny Princess is an energetic, fun-loving puppy with a heart full of love and excitement. She’s ready to find a family who can keep up with her and shower her with affection. If you’re ready for some puppy antics, plenty of playtime, and a lifetime of adventures, Penny is the girl for you! Let’s go, Penny – your new family is waiting for you! As with most young puppies, Penny is good with other dogs, kids (older and appropriate understanding of how to behave around puppies) as well as dog-savvy cats. Win, win, win! As part of Penny’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Penny, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2318770##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOB:1/12/2022Hi there, my name is Charlotte and I am looking for my forever home. I am a petite lab mix who is a special girl. I truly love people and other dogs but I have to meet you a couple of times as I require some patience to come around. I'm not too shy, I just don’t always trust you right away. When I know I can trust you, I warm up very quickly. I am a very sweet love bug to my core. I am playful, and a go-with-the-flow kind of girl, so I will tag along on whatever adventure you embark on. I truly just want to be with you and do what you are doing. I am a very smart girl who is crate trained, leash-trained, and I know some other tricks too. I love to play with my toys, and my favorite game is tug-of-war. I do truly like having a doggy friend to play with as well, though 1-2 introductions with other dogs are best for me. If you are looking for the best adventure pal and companion, look no further, I'm your gal. I do prefer an experienced owner due to my initial trust issues, but I will be good for someone who is patient and understanding regardless. Please make sure to put in an application as I'd love to meet you. I really just want a best friend to spend my time with and love dearly.  *available for private meet and greets/I will not be attending public adoption/meet & greet events due to their overwhelming nature* (KG/KG*)   Up to date on age appropriate vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped.   Adoption Fee:  $100.00     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2025, 7:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOB: 9/1/2020 Hi my name is Charles Rocky but I prefer to go by my less formal name of Charlie. I am a sweet and goofy boy looking for my forever home. I am a spry dude who would thrive in an active home, as I get along great with the other dogs in my foster home and LOVE to run and play alI day with them. As for kitties, my previous foster home had some and I didn’t pay any attention to them, so a home with cats would be fine too. I am a loving boy, but would really benefit from having an experienced dog owner who can help me refine my commands. I am house trained and know how to sit and walk properly on a leash, but I am still a young guy and get excited at times, so an owner with previous canine experience is best for me. My foster mom says that I am a very loving boy who acclimated quickly to her home and had no issues with making myself comfortable in the evenings on her bed lol! I do great at events with both adults and children, however in my own living space, kids can make me quite nervous with their quick and unexpected movements, so a home without young children would work best for me.  So, if you are looking for a laid-back, dapper looking dude who loves other dogs, please consider adding me to your family as your new best friend. (ABF) Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, neutered and microchipped.   Adoption Fee: $100.00    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 25, 2025, 9:57 pm
