Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
I received Océano who I call pups, when he was roughly 6m, he is 2 now. At the time, I was unaware of allergies to long hair dogs. And unaware my daughter is allergic to all dogs. She suffers from many health conditions and while trying my best to keep them separated so he does not need to rehome, my best efforts have not been successful and she continues to be affected. I also work a lot and do not have time to give him the attention he is needing and my daughter can’t play with him. Oceano is an anxious, high energy dog with a big personality and a big attention seeker. He also does not like fast movements around him and will bark. He needs to go to a family that has the time, patience, and energy for him or a family with other small/medium dogs for him to play with. He loves to play catch and tug a war and will bring toys to you when he wants to play. And he loves to be close and cuddly. He is microchipped, and there is no fee for adopting, we just want him to go to a good home.

Story
Roo is a male chiweenie. He is 11 years old, categorized as a senior dog but he can run, jump, and play like a young pup. He was given to me from a friend in Laytonville, California at 10 weeks old. Roo loves to cuddle, explore his surroundings, and snuggle up under any blanket he can find. His favorite place to sit or sleep is in a person's lap. He can sit, spin, and wait for a treat. However, Roo was not properly socialized as a pup, so he is aggressive towards dogs, cats, kids, and adults. He has an extensive history of biting. He has bit 1 child, 2 dogs, and 3 adults. He has attempted to bite my kid once. We attempted to rehome him with family but he ended up tearing through carpets more than once. So we have him back home. We are hoping someone with lots of patience & understanding can teach this old dog new tricks and have the skills to support his behaviors. He really is sweet with people he cares about & I hope he finds someone to give him the guidance he deserves! Thanks!

Story
Mr. Louie was born around 12/2022 and is a cute little Long-Haired Chihuahua.  He only weighs 8 pounds, very portable!  Louie is a shy guy and takes time to warm up.  Once he warms up we believe he will be such a good boy.  He lived with his previous owners in a home since he was born, but owners had too many dogs to care for, so we are helping find a new place for Louie to live.  He is an excellent playmate if you have another small dog or dogs that are looking for a buddy.  He has not lived with a cat, so not sure what his reaction would be.  We are told that Louie is extremely athletic and fast when he runs, so he would really enjoy living somewhere where he can have fun and play.  We have given Louie his shots, microchipped, and neutered him. $250.00 adoption helps with the cost of care given to him here at the shelter. Story
Ducky came in to us after being abandoned at our front door in a crate. He was initially so scared. We have been working hard to get him comfortable and he is so much better now. It takes a little time for Ducky to warm up to a new person, but once he does, he will be your bestie. He was clearly not being fed when he came in but is putting on weight since he now has access to food. He is rooming with Copper who was abandoned in the same crate. Based on his teeth he appears to be only about a year old. He has had a very sad start to his life and we believe he deserves better. Ducky currently weighs 10 pounds, but could stand to gain a few more pounds. We would love to have a kind person give Ducky his second chance. $300.00 adoption. Story
This sweet little Chihuahua girl is named Jill. She was found as a stray and brought to us so we can find her a new home in the event her owner doesn't come forward by 8/6. She will be spayed and can leave the next day. She is a tiny thing at only 8 pounds, so very holdable. She is very gentle and enjoys attention from the staff. We don't know much about her beyond what we can observe here at the shelter. She enjoys going out with the other little dogs in the group play yard. Her new owner might need to be prepared to do any housetraining in case she never learned in her old home. We estimated her to be about 4 years old based on her teeth. $300.00 adoption includes the cost of her spay, microchip, and vaccines that we took care of here. Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.
