Story
Sam is an adorable little mixture of chihuahua and ??? He joined Almost Home to find the perfect place where he can spend his golden years being pampered. Sadly, Sammy’s owner passed away and he ended up in an overcrowded, southern shelter. He has been adjusting well in his foster home and is getting along with the other dogs in the home. He even likes hanging out with the kitties. Sammy has learned that toys can be fun and has  a great time tossing them around. He likes going for walks and is a great cuddler. He  is learning about house training and wears belly bands in the house for just in case. . Because of his small  size (8.6 lbs)  and age (10ish),  an adult only home or home with older children is needed.  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. Story
  Dean (aka Dino) came to us from a southern shelter after his owner passed away. He is an adorable, scruffy little 9 lb chihuahua mix. Dino is a senior boy at approximately 12 y/o with plenty of love left to give. He’s looking for his forever home where he can live out his golden years.  Dino has been doing very well in his foster home. He is crate trained and loves his cozy blankets. He does well with the other dogs and even the kitties in the home. Dino Is a pretty laid-back boy who is content with a short walk and lounging in the sunshine or finding a comfy dog bed to snuggle up in.. Due to his size and age we are looking for a home without young children for Dean.. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
