I took her in as a baby cause my sister couldn’t take care of her because her living situation, 3 years later I grew a bond with this dog she’s so loving, funny, crazy and loves to play. due to me moving away I cannot take her and it hurts me to have to find her a new home. If you need a loving dog here she is please take good care of her as she deserves it she’s such a cool dog. you’ll love her.

Meet Dutch Say hello to Dutch! Dutch is a handsome Chihuahua / Dachshund (“Chiweenie”) mix who is approximately 4 - 4.5 years old and weighs 17 pounds. This sweet guy was found as a stray in south Texas near the border of Mexico. We aren’t sure how he found himself in that situation, but all of that is behind him now! He is just the nicest dog with the most wonderful disposition. Dutch has a great personality and loves everyone he meets. He is small, mighty and is eager to make new friends! He LOVES playing with his toys and gets along well with the other dogs in his play group here at the rescue. He has puppies and some youngsters in his group and loves to romp around with them. He is truly a happy, playful dog with a lot of love to share. He will be a loving and loyal companion, ready to go on a walk to explore the neighborhood or just curl up next to you on the couch to watch a movie. We just love this little bundle of personality and can’t wait for him to find his forever home! Dutch is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. Adoption fee is $325 a meet and greet can be scheduled with a approved application. *Dutch tested positive for Chagas disease and has been on Dr Madigans protocol since October 2023 with zero complications! Dr Madigan recommends the treatment for one year, so he is more than half way through his treatment plan! This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. Meet Mitzi Meet sweet Mitzi! Mitzi is a sweet and tenderhearted dog who is about 2 years old and weighs 16 pounds. We rescued her from a shelter near the border of Mexico. She does have a warm-up period when meeting new people. Once she knows you will be kind to her, she loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment she was in previously, it is apparent that she wasn’t handled very much so she just needs time to trust and know that she is in a safe space. She gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. She would do best in a calm and patient home without small children where she can acclimate to her new surroundings and learn to trust. She is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call her own! Mitzi is at our rescue near San Antonio and a meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. Meet Celia Celia is about 10 months old, weighs 16 pounds and is a typical happy, playful puppy! She looks like a Chiweenie and Dachshund mix. She is very sweet, friendly and as you can see in the video, enjoys cuddles and kisses. She was rescued from a shelter near the border of Mexico. We are so happy she is now safe with us. We can see Celia doing well in just about any home a home. She just wants attention and playtime with her forever family. She is curious and also enjoys being held. She has a fun personality and in true terrier fashion, she is very smart. She enjoys playing with her toys and with her playgroup. My name Landry means 'one who dominates the land'. Well, to be honest, I'm a little guy but by all means not a push over. I can tend to be a little bossy with other unaltered male dogs but I do start to come down a few notches and interact with them. I live in a foster home with 5 others and do very well. I'm still a youngster yet of only around a year old. I'm playful, sweet and most definitely charming. Just a look at this handsome mug and it's really really hard to say No. A total master at those 'puppy dog eyes'!!! I would do best in a home with older children 8+ and a secure fenced yard. I can tend to sometimes try to dash out the front door so precautions will need to be made so I can't do that. I'm crate trained and partially house trained. I'm doing well with my continuing training and the crating while away helps with not going in the house. I'd make a great family addition to a playful furry 'sibling' or do fabulous getting all the attention as your one and only. I've got a whole bunch of love in this 10lb body to give.
