Story
$50 Adoption fee! Why so low? Yakima County is spilling over with stray and dumped dogs. Our goal is to get dogs into the right homes ASAP so we can help other dogs in need. It's not about the money, it's about finding the right home for these pups! We picked up Izzy from the Humane Society because she was having trouble being in the shelter environment. She would bark ferociously at the kennel door whenever anyone would get close to her, thus making her not very welcoming for adoption. It would take her a few days to trust someone, then she would melt in their arms and become best friends. She just needs extra time to establish trust. Izzy would do best in a home seeing the same people every day, and a special spot to call her own so she won’t be disturbed when her human family has visitors. Do not expect Izzy to run up into your arms at the initial meeting. She will need several days to adjust to her new home. Hand fed treats are a great way to start building the trust. When trust is built, you can expect Izzy to be playful, loving, and cuddly. She doesn’t mind having fur siblings, but again it needs to be a slow introduction, preferably with non-hyper dogs that don’t care to wrestle. This dog is located in Selah, WA. PetFinder allows multiple postings of the same animal as long as the postings are 100 miles apart from each other. This way we can reach far and wide to find the perfect home for this dog. If driving to Selah is difficult for you, we will do our best to find a rescue partner to meet you halfway.
