Story
Sheer Royalty! Hi friends! You dont have to call me HRH, I am just King Charles for ya! I am a cute 6 months old, 12 lbs, neutered male Cocker Spaniel mix. You may have heard of the National City hoarding case on TAP's IG. I am so thankful that I was rescued off there and here I am! Living the life at my foster home. I am almost all bathroom trained, just a few points to cover. Due to my past, I dont like the crate and still working on being comfortable on the leash. Please be patient with me as I complete my training! The couch is my throne, quite literally! I am the picture of calmness. I play with my dog siblings intermittently and then relax. Dogs help me build my confidence and be my best self. My temperament is perfect for a family. I havent met kids or cats yet but I think I should be good! I have shown no separation anxiety having been left with my doggie pals. I am quite the angel with no destructive tendencies. I have the cutest snout to give a bunch of kisses and ears made of velvet. It will be hard not to snuggle with me 24 x 7! Royalty is as royalty does and you would be quite happy with my regal behavior! I would love a home where I would have equals in form of doggie siblings where they can mentor me to build confidence. I am quite relaxed and would need a few meets with kids to get comfortable too. So if you are looking for a snuggle mate, look no further! My adoption fee is $500 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2118518##

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Introducing Cubbie!  Cubbie is a 20 pound, 6 year old low-shedding Cockapoo.  Cubbie is about to be your new best friend. He loves to lay close to his people, getting pets whenever he can. His love language is bring his favorite toy to play fetch with, which he can do for hours as he follows you around the house. He will even hand you his toy with the command “toy.” He can also sit and shake. When its time to relax, he will find his guarding spot, usually at the foot of the bed or edge of the couch. Cubbie is not a big barker, however he may bark once or twice when he hears a noise outside. He does not have an ounce of separation anxiety, he will chill by the door until you come home and he will be so happy to see you. He is potty trained and has not had an accident in his foster home yet! Cubbie is low energy, but gets so excited for his daily walk around the block, which is about all he needs. He is the perfect apartment dog! Cubbie is good on leash. He may benefit from some training to not pull. He loves to meet other dogs on his walks. However, he does not need to meet every dog and does a good job walking past with out barking or pulling towards them. He sometimes is more interested in the smell of the environment than the people and dogs he’s meeting.  Cubbie loves to seek refuge in small enclosed spaces, like his crate or under a chair. He is not crate trained but loves to have his own space where he can reside for some alone time or too self soothe.  Cubbie has loved every human and dog he has meet so far. However, he is the king of his own personal space. He is slow to warm up to be handled. He loves pets when he approaches you for them but does not like to be approached unannounced. He does not like to be handled for grooming so he would do best with someone who is patient to work with him to give him the grooming he needs, or being taken to an experienced groomer. He does do well with a brushing but when he’s done, he is done for the day. He has some resource guarding around his food but settles in once he is comfortable and knows it won’t be taken away from him. He struggles to see in low light and may become defensive if he does not know what is happening. His fosters have had success talking to him so he knows where they are. He would do best with patient people who can read his cues and give him the space he needs and should not be in a home with young children.  He is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  August 19, 2024, 4:42 pm
