Story
Sweet Marnie is a senior girl with plenty of years under her fur and the wisdom to prove it. She first came to SCCR as a sprightly 5-year-old stray, and now, after the passing of her elderly owner, this little old lady is back with us, looking for her next forever home.Like any sophisticated senior, Marnie thrives on a well-timed routine and prefers to keep things low and steady. Stairs? Not for this golden girl—her knees aren’t what they used to be. Crates? Please, she’s no spring chicken and will voice her disapproval with a chorus of barks. Her hearing & vision aren`t what they used to be, so sometimes she needs a little extra patience, but give her the freedom to roam the house at her own pace, and she’ll be as content as a grandma in a rocking chair.Marnie enjoys her slow strolls around the block, or better yet, meandering through the yard, taking her sweet time like any little old lady window-shopping on Main Street. She`s always by your side, ready to lend a comforting presence during your cozy nights in with a good book. Marnie is looking for a home where she can be the only dog and spend time with her family who is home with her most of the time. With Marnie, you`ll have a lap warmer, a seasoned companion, and a lovely little lady who brings a touch of grace and those signature 3-inch lashes. Adopt this golden gal, and your days will be filled with slow walks, warm snuggles, and the sweet silence of her gentle companionship.Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Say hello to Ritzy, a 4.5-year-old American Cocker Spaniel who`s as fabulous as her name suggests. With a personality straight out of a classic Hollywood film, this sweet girl is the canine embodiment of “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” She’s got charm, class, and just the right amount of sass.Ritzy is completely house-trained—when nature calls, she’ll politely pace by the door. She`s affectionate, adores human attention, and will happily be your shadow if it means spending more time with you. Ritzy has great energy and absolutely loves her walks (she`s working on straightening out her zig-zag stroll). But don’t worry—she knows when it’s time to chill and will match your vibe with ease.Social by nature, Ritzy gets along well with other dogs, although she can be a little “in your face” at first—she’s just that excited to make friends! Her behavior around kids and cats is still a mystery, but her friendly spirit suggests she`d be open to new experiences with the right introductions. This diva of the dog world isn’t picky when it comes to food—she’ll happily eat just about anything you offer. She knows her basics like “Sit” and “No,” and she’s working on her leash manners while rocking a harness with style. She enjoys the outdoors, especially if you`re there to enjoy it with her. She’ll ignore most distractions, except for the neighbor dogs—she loves a good fence-line run!Ritzy does love to chew, so keep a stash of YAK bones, tennis balls, or rope toys handy to keep her satisfied.Whether she’s strutting down the sidewalk or lounging like royalty, Ritzy is ready to bring sparkle, snuggles, and a little bit of glam to your life.
