Story
This litter of cocker spaniel puppies have congenital cataracts. We are assisting the breeder in finding them homes. 2 puppies are still available.  Puppies born with congenital cataracts can improve as they mature. Right now they have small dots of cloudiness on their eyes.  That’s because the lens inside the puppy’s eye grows along with the dog. When the area of cloudiness on the lens remains the same size, by the time the puppy becomes an adult, the affected portion of the lens is relatively small. By adulthood, many dogs born with cataracts are able to compensate and see "around" the cloudiness.Treatment may not be necessary until a high degree of vision is lost and cataracts become problematic for the pup. A cataract may affect only a portion of the lens and consequently, some dogs show few signs at all. Cataracts that covers the entire lens may still allow some vision, so the pup can “see” around the cloudy portion. The only known effective treatment for cataracts is surgery. This may be necessary to prevent blindness or sometimes the cataracts can be painful.  A fenced in yard is required for this puppy ,  no children under the age of 8 in the household, and someone that is home more and has the time to care for a special needs puppy. The puppy has received 1st vaccines. Adoption fee is $25. A refundable spay/neuter deposit of $75.00 is also required. They are located in Shipshewana, Indiana ##2146193##

Her birth date is 12/16/23 and she currently weighs 5.14#. She has been vet. checked, spayed, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. Her adoption donation is $800 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. Please note that any additional funding collected for this pet goes back into our medical acct. to provide for other dogs in need. Story
Bruno is a sweet seven year old Cocker Spaniel with a relax demeanor who is great with other dogs. However, like many Spaniels, Bruno is not compatible with small children, which is why he is better in a new home. Bruno came from a registered AKC breeder from Wakarusa, IN. I got Bruno when he was just a puppy in 2017. Bruno and have been through a lot of life together. He’s been my friend and my loyal companion for years, which makes this decision very difficult for me. After recently having our first child and ongoing compatibility issues, my wife and I want to find a good home for him. Bruno is great off of a leash around the yard or on long walks. Like many dogs, he loves barking at the mailman or an Amazon truck. He also does a lot of quirky things like bark at the Liberty Mutual Emu commercials, or if he sees a horse on TV. All of these are pretty entertaining. He’s favorite human food is popcorn and will beg you every chance he gets to have some.
