Story

Sierra is an extremely loving and friendly 5-6 year old American Cocker Spaniel, who has spent her life as a puppy mill mom before coming into rescue. Everyone who meets this sweetheart comments on her affectionate and friendly personality. She loves physical contact and watching tv on the sofa beside her foster mom, and often becomes very engaged in watching what is on the screen. She is always ready for an adventure in the yard, and enjoys chasing the bunnies and any other critters in the backyard of her rural foster home. Sierra wakes early in the morning and eagerly awaits her walk before breakfast. She is learning to play with the other dog in the house and she loves grooming the dog and cats that she lives with, taking on a loving motherly role. She doesn't bark but has started making her feelings known in the mornings if her foster mom is too slow in getting ready to go out for her walk. Sierra is a smart girl, and learned to toilet outside extremely quickly after arriving at the foster home. She has a great appetite, and loves eating meals with her other furry family members. So far she has enjoyed everything she has been introduced to except carrots. With more time away from the mill Sierra is learning the everyday sounds of living in a house, but is still skittish if something is dropped on a floor or if she hears a loud noise that is new to her. She will cower until she realizes it's not a threat, but with time this gentle beauty will gain confidence and has already come a long way in feeling safe and loved. Fireworks and thunder don't phase her at all, and she just ignores those sounds. She travels well in the car. Sierra would be a great addition to a family with older dog savvy children; the noise of younger children might startle and scare her. She would also do well with a mature individual or couple who are keen to experience the constant companionship she lovingly doles out. Story

Theo is very sweet once he knows someone but it takes him time to warm up. He can bark at things that startle him. He was surrendered to us because he bit his previous owner. Due to some abuse in his previous home, he gets startled easily. He does not like things being moved around him, or being startled while he's sleeping or resting. He can also behave nervously around new people. Theo will need an adult only family, who is willing to come visit him many times before potentially adopting him.
