I’m a 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel weighing in at a petite 20 lbs, and I’ve just retired from life as a puppy mill mom. Now that I’m finally free, I’m learning what it means to be loved—and let me tell you, I’m loving it!   My foster mom says I’m the sweetest, most polite little lady you’ll ever meet. I like to stay close, always keeping an eye on what you're doing (they call me Nosey Nellie—I think it’s a compliment!). I’m not a fan of crates—they make me nervous—so I much prefer cuddling up in bed with my person at night. I hope my forever home will let me keep enjoying that cozy luxury.   When you’re away, I’m perfectly well-behaved. I don’t chew or cause trouble—I just head to my safe spot and watch out the window, waiting patiently for your return. I’m doing really well with my house training too! I just need gentle reminders to go outside, and in a pinch, I know how to use a pee pad.   I get along great with other gentle dogs and would love a calm canine companion to help me continue building confidence. I’d also be fine with cats—I’m a gentle soul. Loud noises and sudden chaos still scare me a bit, so a quiet home without young children would be best.   Walks are a new adventure for me, and though I’m still a little unsure, I’m getting braver every day. With a bit more encouragement, I’ll be the best walking buddy you could ask for.   I’m easy to care for—I don’t need regular grooming, I enjoy baths, and I’m fine with ear cleaning and nail trims. I’ve had all my vetting done: I’m spayed, up to date on vaccines, and had a full dental, so I’m feeling better than I have in years!   After everything I’ve been through, I’ve blossomed in foster care and am ready to share all my love with a family who will cherish me. Could that be you? Love, Nellie &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   Her adoption fee is $650 which includes her vaccines, preventatives, microchip, dental and spay.   If you think you can give her a happy ever after home, please complete our online adoption application at this link https://www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoption   Due to the high volume of emails, calls, and messages we receive, it is not possible to respond to every application. Story
We got Harley from a breeder in Aug 2021. This was our first dog and we had difficulty training well as there was not a lot of consistency between family members. He likes to take things, run under the table and shred it so things can’t be too accessible. He can be aggressive if you try to take things from him so we give him cheese and he will drop the item. He loves to cuddle up in the evenings with his favourite person. He loves people coming to visit and playing with other dogs.
