Story
Simone is a 10 month old spayed female cockapoo who weighs 14 pounds. This adorable girl was rescued from living outside in a crate where she was dirty, matted and not cared for. She has since been shaved, started blossoming in our care and she has the best puppy eyes. Simone is a bit shy to start, but would love another dog in the home to follow around and we have even started to see her play. Story
Watson is a 4 month old neutered male cockapoo who weighs 18 pounds. He was rescued along with several other dogs from terrible conditions. These dogs had to be immediately shaved and they already feel so much better. They are a bit shy to start, but super sweet once they get to know you. They would thrive with another dog in the home and are starting to show us their playful side. Story
Meet Sausage! Sausage is a 10 month old cocker spaniel and aussie mix. She is a very intelligent and high energy working breed dog and will require a very active pet parent up to the task of providing her with ample physical and mental exercise. Herding breed experience is strongly preferred from adopters. As with all adopted dogs, Sausage will need a home where people are understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with her. She will need time to trust her new family before working on training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Herding dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 Josie is a 10 month old cocker spaniel mix. She is the sweetest, most fun loving girl who is great with everyone she meets. She is currently in a home with children (newborn to preschool), cats and other dogs, and she is great with all of them! Josie was part of an accidental litter. When the owners couldn't find her a home they dumped her on a family member, and that is who has her now, but can't keep her. She is mostly kept outdoors but is allowed inside too. She is not quite housetrained yet, but is working on it. It's hard with multiple pets, a newborn baby, and toddler/preschool kids. It's a busy household which makes it difficult to watch her for cues that she needs out to potty. In a home of her own, with a little focused attention, she will learn. Josie and her brother Jax have so much love to offer a family. They just need to find someone to give them a chance! She does a very minor cherry eye (prolapsed tear duct) in one eye. It is not bad enough to need surgery and does not interfere with her vision. There is no treatment needed at this time. Please see the last photo. :Josie is fully vetted and ready to go to a new home now!  *We have more pictures of her on our Facebook or you can email us and we can send more. This site only allows to put 4 pictures. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Story
LucyLu is ready for a forever home... LucyLu is a two year old CHOCOLATE Cavalier. This unusual color doesn't happen often in Cavaliers, so this little girl is bound to grab the attention of anyone she meets... which is just fine with her since she loves attention! Given that she came from a breeding situation where she got limited attention, LucyLu is a surprisingly confident little girl. She walks well on a leash and is happy to make friends (two- and four-legged) with anyone she meets. She also is quite the bundle of energy, so an active household where there is lots going on and she gets plenty of attention would be ideal. At home, LucyLu loves to sit on the couch and snuggle with you. She happily plays with toys (and anything on the floor is considered a toy!) but always likes to know where her "person" is. LucyLu sleeps in a crate at night and is crated when no one is home. She's learning commands - "sit" and "come" are pretty solid - and is working on her manners. She's always ready for a walk or a new adventure. If taken out regularly, LucyLu doesn't have accidents in the house, although regression is normal when changing environments. LucyLu loves her food, and can be watchful of her food when other dogs are around. She'll bat her eyelashes as she swipes another dog's peanut butter filled Kong! A fenced home would be ideal. Off-leash is not an option for this one, since LucyLu would much prefer to follow her nose and seek out the next new playmate four blocks away rather than stick around and wait for fun to come to her. LucyLu is fine with other dogs and happy to coexist with the cat in her foster home. In her forever home, dog savvy kids would be ok as long as the family knows that anything on the floor is fair game and an open door is an invitation to explore (with no guarantee of a return). LucyLu is spayed and had a dental with lots of extractions. She is up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. If you think she'd be a great fit for your household, please visit our website at www.Zoeshouserescue.com and apply! Zoe's House Inc. Kennel license #9117 P.O.Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Not good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Resse, AKA Roger, a 2-year-old 21-pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This sweet boy likes his pets and ear rubs. His favorite game is fetch, and he’ll play until your arm falls off if you are willing! When not playing fetch or enjoying walks, he will either snuggle up next to your lap or find his cool spot on the floor nearby. Roger had some guarding issues when first surrendered. He is much better now, but it’s still recommended that he is not in a house with very young children. He is housebroken, although regression is common. He loves everyone. He also loves other dogs, as long as they are not too hyper or aggressive. He sleeps through the night in his crate next to his fosters' bed. After a few whimpers, he does fine if left alone in his crate for short times during the day. He is still learning leash manners, and needs to learn restraint when seeing dogs or other animals. Because of this, he should not be trusted off-leash. He loves to run and play, so a fenced in yard is recommended to ensure that he can safely get his exercise. Roger is spayed, UTD on vaccine and preventatives, and is microchipped. He is being fostered near Lititz. Any potential adopters will need to be willing to travel to this area for a meet and greet. All resident pups are also required to come to the meet and greet. If you think this little gem would make an amazing addition to your family, please apply! www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Kennel License 9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608
