Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Cinder! Cinder is a sweet Cocker Spaniel who has made incredible strides since she first came to us. Initially very scared and shy, she is slowly starting to open up and show her gentle nature. While she's still nervous around humans and hasn't quite worked up the courage to come up for pets, she is becoming more comfortable being near people and is learning that humans bring wonderful things like treats and soothing scratches. Cinder absolutely loves other dogs and finds confidence in their company. Having a well-adjusted resident dog to help her feel safe and show her the ropes is a must. Cinder is looking for a patient and understanding family that will give her the time and space to continue building her confidence. With gentle care, Cinder will continue to blossom into the amazing dog we know she is.   ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard - no invisible fences. Confident resident dog. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received minimal socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. January 24, 2025, 10:39 pm
