Story
Meet Arthur!  Arthur is a sweet 11 year old, 26 pound cocker spaniel looking for his forever home.  Arthur is fostered with another pup and they are doing well together. He enjoys walks in the neighborhood and chilling on the couch. Arthur is crate and house trained with mid-day walks.  In his prior home, Arthur was an only pup and he would be great as an only dog.  Arthur is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 kidney disease that doesn't require any medication.  Arthur is ready to find his forever home now! Courtesy Post: Help Us Find Verne His Forever Family! Meet Verne—a lovable 2-year-old boy with the softest fur and the sweetest soul. Verne was recently surrendered by his previous family through no fault of his own. Despite this big change, he’s kept his gentle spirit and is patiently waiting for a new beginning. Verne is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and recently received a clean bill of health from a licensed vet. He’s currently in a foster home where he’s doing great with cats and kids. He’s also potty trained and absolutely lives for car rides—your ideal adventure buddy! This handsome guy just wants to be part of a loving family again. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly, and well-mannered companion, Verne might be your perfect match. Interested in meeting him? We’d love to arrange a meet-and-greet so you can fall in love in person!

Meet Busta! Busta and his sister, Khloe, were surrendered through no fault of their own and are looking for a great retirement home to spend the rest of their days together. He is a great leash walker and very obedient. Busta likes treats and takes them gently when offered. He knows and follows commands such as `sit`, `stay`, `go`, `lay down`, and even gives high fives. Busta isn`t very interested in toys and prefers to just chill out and watch what`s happening around him. He is house-trained and not destructive when left home alone. Busta has lived with children of all ages, other dogs, cats, and done great with them all. He is bonded to his sister Khloe and they must be adopted together. Approximate Age: 5 years Approximate Weight: 30 lbs Meet Skeeter! A loving and well-mannered dog who just needs a little patience to shine. Here’s what makes him special: - Sweetheart at heart: Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate and eager for attention. - Great house manners: Quiet, clean, and well-behaved indoors. - Crate trained: Keeps his crate spotless, though he’s hesitant to go in at first. - Dog-friendly: Did well with his foster’s other dogs. - Loves being brushed: Enjoys a good grooming session. - Stranger danger: Can be wary of new people and has some kennel aggression, but it’s all bravado—treats and kindness win him over quickly! - Looking for patience and love: With a little time and understanding, Skeeter will be an amazing companion! - Rides we’ll in a car - Wonderful leash manners -Working on jumping: on people and counters - Slight resource guarding behavior seen in foster home - just needs consistent correction - I have a bite on record related to stranger danger. Please speak with Odhs about how to avoid my triggers. If you’re ready to give this special guy a chance, come meet Skeeter today! ********************************************************************* Visit our website for an application to adopt. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-application What breed am I?
