Story
Meet Sugar, a 7 year old spayed female shih tzu mix who is as sweet as her name implies! She weighs about 15 lbs.  Sugar is a friendly girl who gets along with everyone - dogs, cats, people, and kids! She walks well on leash and loves to be close to her people. She is medically up to date (recent full dental done), housebroken, and crate trained. A 100% good doggo!  **Sugar will be available at our adoption event on 3/23 at Petco in Dayville, CT! Applications are being accepted now and we will review applications based on best fit for her as the event gets closer.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2324359##

Story
Meet Pretzel, a lively and lovable 3 month old Shih Tzu mix puppy. Weighing in at just 3 lbs, he's bursting with energy and affection. We were told mom is a Chihuahua, and his dad is a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix, making him a unique blend.  Pretzel is making great progress with pee pad training and loves playing with toys. He's a social butterfly, gettling along with dogs, and people. Due to his small size, we recommend children aged 10 and older. While he's yet to meet a feline friend, we assume he'll adapt beautifully to life with cats.  As a young puppy, Pretzel is a clean slate, eager to soak up training, socialization, and love. With gentle guidance and patience, he'll blossom into a devoted companion.  Pretzel will be available at our adoption event on 03/23 at Petco in Dayville, CT! Applications are now being accepted and we will review applications based on best fit for him as the event gets closer.
