Everyone say hi to Arfie, a 6 year old 28 lb shih tzu boy. Yes you read that right, Arfie weighs 28 lbs and is in need of a home that will take him on walks and give him the opportunity to shed some much needed pounds---with that said this little boy is an " absolute gentleman" according to his foster mom. Arfie came to us after his elderly owner was unable to care for him longer due to her own personal issues----Arfie has come a long way from intake when he was all of 39lbs!!! He just wants to please everyone, has excellent house manners and deserves a chance at a great life in a loving home. He gets along with EVERYONE and is a soft and kind hearted soul....he has yet to meet a person he doesn't wag his little tail at and asks to say hello to. Arfie has a history of seizures and is on medication where it controlled now that he has been seen and treated for it by our veterinary team. He also is allergic to chicken and chicken by-products but is doing great on a diet of salmon and sweet potato kibble which is sold over the counter. Hiya friends! It’s me Nina. I think you heard about my sad story…my owner passed away 😢 and I got left at the shelter. It was so scary! 😱 But now I’m happy and safe with my foster mom and I’m feeling better after FCCR got me checked out. I am a Shih Tzu golden girl at 10 years young and just 13-14lbs and looking for a calm forever home where someone is home more often than not. I am very sweet and gentle and friendly to all people including older kids (little kids are a bit too much for me). I love going on walks and meeting people and dogs 🐶 and I would do fine with a doggie sibling as long as they are gentle with me. I don’t know about cats 🐈 since I have not met one yet but I'm guessing I'd be ok with him or her. I have found my favorite dog bed and have made it my own- I am a sassy girl who knows what she wants 😂 - after all I am a shih tzu. Helloooo there!! My name is Tiger but I’m really more like a sweet, gentle kitty cat in a Shih Tzu’s body. 😂 I am 9 years old and 18 lbs…yes I’m a big boy. 🤭 My owner passed away and I ended up at the shelter. I was sort of a hot mess…all my fur was overgrown and matted. I think you saw my before and after pictures. Such a relief to get a warm bath and get rid of all that fur… you can see how handsome I am! Now I am in my foster home and realizing I am safe. I am feeling more comfortable every day but still startle easily with sudden movements so I am hoping there are no little ones in my forever home (older kids are probably ok). I love my foster Mom and her tummy rubs. I could lay there all day! 😂 When she does have to get up, I like to follow her around to see where she’s going and what’s she going…I’m a curious fellow. I get along with other dogs but I’m not sure about cats. I don’t understand toys yet but would much rather play with my foster Mom. 😆 I LOVE food…i bet you guessed that…my foster Mom thinks I had a steady diet of human food so she is working to change my diet and help me get daily walks. I am a good leash walker so I’m ready to get out and exercise!
