She’s discovering the simple pleasures of cozy naps, walks in a backpack, and lots of snuggling. This happy girl is Jasmine! Jasmine and several other dogs made their way to Brave after their breeder could "no longer care for them" and was looking to downsize their operation. Jasmine quickly figured out how great pet life can be and she immediately leaned into all of the perks. Treats? YES, PLEASE! A basket of toys? She'll play with them all! Cozy beds and snuggles? Life couldn't be better. Jasmine is extremely food motivated. She loves playing with and hoarding her toys. She loves her foster parents and spending time outside. Jasmine loves all people, but she has a special bond with other dogs. She needs to go to a home with another dog who can provide the comfort and friendship she needs. Don't have a dog? Jasmine would love to be adopted with her "sister" Ivy!  House trained: Doing well! Jasmine and Ivy both love going outside to potty and play. They are very good about using their washable pee pads in the house.Leash trained: Both are working on it. Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Introducing Jaxx, a 6 yr old male Coton de Tulear. A what you say? He's a royal dog of Madagascar! Coton de Tulear is a fancy way to say THE softest dog ever. Cotons were such a popular breed with the royalty in Madagascar that at one time it was illegal for "common people" to own one! They were reserved for high society only. Cotons are known for their super soft coat and charming, joyful personalities. Jaxx has recently retired from fathering puppies and is ready to leave the life of commercial breeding behind. Due to a past of poor nutrition and neglect, the poor guy only has 4 teeth left. He doesn't let that stop him, though. He just needs soft food and treats that are a bit easier for him to chew. Jaxx loves to explore outside and will need a securely fenced yard. He went on his first walk recently, and although he did pretty well, he isn't leash trained yet. Jaxx is just learning to play with toys. We know he has a fun dog inside him just starting to come out. With some time and patience, we think he'll live up to the Coton breed characteristics. Jaxx is fully vetted, does great in the car and is potty trained if let out on a regular basis. Jaxx is not fond of the kennel, but can be trusted to be left out alone in the house for several hours. He hasn't quite mastered steps yet, but uses a ramp to get on the couch. He is small dog friendly and will need a small resident dog to help him adapt to his new life. Due to his past, Jaxx is still shy. He will need a patient family that is home more than not to help him become the Coton de Tulear that we know he can be. Although he warms up slowly, he is a little love bug once he trusts you. Speaking of living up to the name of Coton de Tulear, Jaxx will need to be groomed several times a year to keep him super soft and so very handsome. If you're interested in adopting this "high class," super soft and extremely handsome boy, please apply to adopt Jaxx today! The suggested adoption donation for Jaxx is a minimum of $350 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
