Story
Hello, My name is DONUT and here is a little info about me:Breed: dachshund/Chi mix Age: 3 years oldGender: Male, neuteredWeight: 14 lbs Height: 11 I'm so happy to have caught your attention! I was born in 2021 in California and I ended up in a shelter. That shelter was scary and so crowded!  Sadly I was put on a list to be euthanized, and would have met that fate had resucers not stepped in!  Thankfully, resucers found me a foster family just days before I was scheduled to be euthanized.  I've been staying at the foster home in Nanaimo since June 2024, and I'm looking for my forever home.  If you are looking for a silly, friendly, loveable small dog- look no further than my profile! Words from my foster family:  Donut loves his toys and enjoys playing with other small dogs. This silly guy is a real gem. Despite everything he has been through he is loving, easy going and adores people. He will jump onto your lap to cuddle. His tail never stops wagging! He likes to go for walks and when he gets tired, he likes to sleep on the couch. Donut is housebroken and leash trained, affectionate, and a wonderful dog. We want to give Donut his happy ending, with the care, love and attention that he deserves so much in his life. Donut doesn't like other dogs to come near his food bowl and he gaurds his food and we think he is best as the only dog at home.  You will not find a nicer boy, please adopt him! Prey drive: unknown/not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: unknown/none observed. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. Story
Hello there, human friends! My name is Sangwoo, and I’m a 6-year-old male Dachshund with a sleek black coat. I’m a petite guy, weighing in at 10 kg, but what I lack in size, I make up for in heart! I’ve had quite the journey, being rescued from a kill shelter just in the nick of time. It’s been tough, but I’ve never lost my love for people. I’m the kind of pup who will greet you with a wagging tail and a nuzzle, and I’m not shy about showing my belly for some good ol’ belly rubs, even if we’ve just met! I’m a social butterfly with humans, but when it comes to other dogs, I’m more of a polite acquaintance. Cats? They’re fine, but I’m much more interested in my human companions. I love a good outdoor adventure, but afterwards, I’m all about relaxing and recharging. I’m learning not to pull on the leash during walks, and I’m a quick study, especially when treats are involved. Speaking of treats, I’ve had some dental work done, so soft snacks are the way to my heart. I don’t guard my food, and I’m well-behaved in a kennel. I’m also house-trained and can use indoor pads or go outside. I may have had a rough start, but I’ve got lots of love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who’s eager to be part of your family, I’m your guy. Let’s meet and see if we’re a match made in doggy heaven! With tail wags and puppy kisses, Sangwoo 🐾 For more videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyXRyaTPBYbtagzZG1yesBA

Story
**Meet Marshmallow!** 🐾✨ Soft, squishy, and irresistibly sweet, Marshmallow is a one-year-old Dachshund/Bully mix with a heart full of love. Despite being blind and deaf, she navigates her world with impressive ease, always finding her way to her favorite spot—your lap! 🥰 Weighing in at a cuddly 26 pounds, Marshmallow is the perfect size for lap snuggles. Her disability doesn't hold her back; she relishes belly rubs and the joy of being close to her humans. If you step away, expect a joyful wiggle butt greeting when she finds you again. 🥹 Marshmallow thrives best with a canine companion to guide, play, and snuggle with. A fenced yard is essential for her safety and happiness. While she may not be suited for a home with cats, older children could be a good match. Currently honing her leash skills, Marshmallow's determination earns her gold stars for effort! ⭐⭐⭐ She enjoys outdoor time and understands that the yard is her bathroom spot. Though she tolerates her crate with a treat, her true love is lounging on your lap (did we mention that already?). 😉 Prepare for belly rub duty when she wakes up—Marshmallow's happiness is contagious. Watching her trot around the yard with joy, even if it's just in circles, is a heartwarming sight. Her zest for life is truly inspiring. Marshmallow seeks a special forever home filled with love, safety, and plenty of lap time. If you're ready to welcome this bundle of joy into your life, apply today to meet Marshmallow! ♥️
