Diego is sweet and energetic. He loves to romp and play outside but he also loves snuggling up with his human. Diego does NOT do well with chicken but is fine with other dogs, cats and kids bigger than him. He like to jump up on the kids. He isn't mean but might knock down a kid smaller than him. Story

Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Welcome Ginger to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 3.5-year old Dachshund/Beagle. She is good with other dogs. She has been in off-leash play groups with dogs bigger than she is and she does great. She is a hound and will scent off. She weighs about 20 pounds. She is a little chunky but she is a foodie. A little less food and more exercise would help. She needs a fenced yard and not underground type fencing. She was playing games today when we were trying to leash her but she is a foodie and will work for treats. She has a nice sturdy long body. This will allow her to be a good walking companion. She would be best in a Ranch style home with fewer stairs. The longer body dogs do best if they don’t have to climb lots of stairs and keep their weight in check. She is healthy, vaccinated and spayed and is ready for her forever home. She is great with other dogs. She is in off-leash play groups with dogs bigger than her. She minds her own business and doesn’t cause any trouble. She is crated at the Rescue and she does fine in a crate. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. We would like someone familiar with the Doxie breed as we can see the Doxie personality in this little girl. Doxie’s bond deeply and usually pick one person in the family to be their person. We would expect her to do this in her new home as well. A smaller yard would be fine for this girl and only a moderately active family would be fine. She won’t need tons of exercise to be happy. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Welcome Romeo to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 1.5-year-old Dachshund mix pup. He is Chocolate and tan and weighs about 12 pounds. He is getting neutered next week. He lives in a home with a number of other dogs and does great. He lives with an older woman and he is very loyal to her. We are working with him on a harness and leash. He doesn’t know how to walk on them at this time. He needs to find his forever home. The person he lived with since he was a puppy has had a change in her living conditions and the neighbor has mentioned harming the dogs. When she told us this, CCPAL stepped up for 3 of the dogs. They are all under-socialized but we will work hard to get them used to new things, leash walking, crate training and more. They are a wonderful breed and if you love this breed you will like any one of these pups. These dogs would make great companion dogs and love to be at home with their person. They would already be wonderful for someone who loves the breed and maybe is a person that wants a companion but doesn’t need them to be a dog you can take everywhere. These dogs would be ok around children. We like them to be 10 or older with the smaller dogs.
