We are a matched based adoption agency, if you see a dog in our program in which you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org and one of our adoptions counselors will be in touch once your application has been screened. Please note that we do require dogs to meet all members of the family including existing pets in the home before finalizing during your in home adoption. Fergus is about 11 months old, neutered, up to date on vetting, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. Meet Fergus! This sweet man came to us from a partner rescue group after being hit by a car. At just 9 months old, this poor guy had broken his pelvis! He is healing and he doesn't let it get him down! Fergus has done very well in his foster home and is finally ready to find his furever. Here's what his foster family has to say about him: Fergus is a sweet-n-spicy little nugget of joy! His bright blue eyes pull you in, making it impossible for you to feel anything but love -- even when he is being spicy!! Fergus loves chewys, chew toys, stuffies, not chew toys (no rogue shoe has escaped his grasp), and playing with his foster brothers. He plays well with other dogs, although larger dogs tend to bring out his spicier side and he gets a little overwhelmed. Slow introductions to new dogs would be best for him. He is interested in cats, but if they are not reactive to him, he leaves them alone beyond the hello sniff and 'play with me' dance. Fergus tends to resource guard his chewys, but not toys, so he is kept separate from his foster brothers when he has food/chewys to avoid conflict. He buries his chewys to try to keep them from his foster brothers, sometimes completely rearranging his kennel to get them perfectly placed and well hidden! Toys are fair game for everyone and he likes play with them and his foster brother, although we have to keep it very brief and gentle as his pelvis is still healing. Fergus loves being outside and sniffing around in the yard, but his favorite is snuggle time on the couch. He is such a lover and a snuggler - he gets to have extra couch time since his activity is limited and he loves every minute of it! He truly loves being around his people, requests snuggles (and of course gets plenty), likes to be held, adores ear scritches, and will bury his nose in for snuggles. Fergus is kennel trained and does well when left alone for the work day or sleeping at night. He may cry for the first bit that he is in his kennel (especially when routine is disrupted), but he quiets down quickly and falls right to sleep. He gets multiple enrichment activities to keep him occupied while he is in his kennel. He is very smart and works through them with ease. He does best with routine, and seems to pick up on the routine very quickly. Potty training has gone great -- he hasn't had a single accident inside or in his kennel! Fergus will be an amazing companion for whoever is lucky enough to give him his forever home. He will steal your heart with his confident strut (although he has the cutest hitch in his gitty-up from his broken pelvis), piercing blue eyes, and sweetest snuggles you could ever imagine from a dachshund!July 14, 2024, 3:54 pm

Jajajaja hola Jefe! Jefe is a sweet couch potato, who is bonded with his brother Chico! They are cute, little senior dachshunds who are hoping to be adopted together! They are a package deal, consider it a 2-for-1 special! Both have good energy and cannot stop wiggling their butts constantly! We are purebred dachshunds, with slightly different colored patches but all dachshund ALL the time! We are your standard dachshund size and have the temperament that would be great as a binge watching buddy, gaming friend or even a professional nappers (seriously we're that good.) Local adoption fee is $300 for both of us (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)

Chico does have a seizure disorder that is controlled well with phenobarbital. His seizures were only about 1 a week but no one wants to let it happen so the meds were started and work GREAT! WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Raven - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Raven, a stunning black beauty of a pup! I'm around 6 months (DOB 1/17/24) and doing all the things a puppy loves to do... exploring, eating, playing, napping, playing some more and of course snuggling. I'm in the sponge stage of my life where I'm soaking up...everything! I come in at about 20lb and should be a pawsome mediumish size gal when I get myself fully growed up. Perfect for all your action packed adventures even with my shorter legs!!! I would make a great family addition to just about any home as I do well with people both tall and small and the other foster pups. With my littermates in homes of their own, I'm a little depressed being by myself. I would absolutely love a home where I can flourish with another playful 4 legged 'sibling'! I haven't met any of those weird smelling creatures y'all call a cat yet but if introduced properly at my tender age I should do fine with them too! I'm in search of a home to call my very own, to have the honor to call you...family!! Won't you please fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org?!!

Story
Bo is a sweet senior that's looking for a quiet home where he can spend his days taking a nap. Bo has multiple medical conditions that will need monitoring and follow up with adopter's veterinarian to discuss options for treatment or supportive care: -severe dental disease -heart murmur (assessment of underlying heart disease severity or prognosis will require more diagnostics such consultation with a veterinary cardiology specialist for an ultrasound of the heart) -large tumor over his chest: likely benign fatty tumors, but will need to be monitored if it becomes irritated/infected from ground contact) -possible other underlying conditions such as endocrine dysfunction (Cushing's) that would require blood work to diagnose Given his age, the focus will need to be on giving him the best quality of life possible with him medical conditions even if prognosis is unknown. His foster says "The first 36 hours Bo slept a lot. Then he started to wake up for longer periods between naps. He's curious and loves to sniff everything. He is determined. Already figured how to knock over a small trashcan by pulling on the liner. Bo tolerates wearing t-shirts which help protect the fatty tumors on his chest. He's working on losing weight with dieting and slow walks. He sleeps through the night with no accidents. Once he wakes up in the morning (it's a process), Bo is ready for a potty break. It's safest for him to be lifted down any stairs. Then he's ready for breakfast. Bo eats carefully measured soft food twice a day. He's using a maze dish. Bo will stick to your heels in the kitchen. The dogs in his foster home eat in separate rooms so when Bo has finished his meal, he politely lets you know it's time to open his door with a few deep barks. No annoying little yaps for this gentleman. After breakfast, he likes to walk through the house sniffing at each door, checking for any dropped treats or if the human is moving, he'll follow. I think he likes to keep track of where his human is located. Once he's done walking around the house, he will find a bed near the human and take a nap until mid-morning. Ready for potty break and some slow walking. Then another nap until human is done working. I expect that as he loses weight, he'll walk for longer periods of time. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CMOZcEKFEaw https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZNg7KwcUKoM https://www.youtube.com/shorts/AEocsbnzBug"
