Story
Herman is a sweet, mature fellow who has embraced his golden years. A perfect day for Herman consists of chasing his ball for about 3 minutes, a good brushing, a couple well timed healthy meals and a full day’s rest. Herman is house trained and fostered with dogs and cats. He has gotten along well with everyone. His eyesight is deteriorating and we believe he is mostly deaf, but that doesn’t stop him from being the sweetest boy. Due to his age (and short legs), he would probably do best in a home with minimal stairs (although his current foster home has stairs and he manages them, albeit slowly).  Good with cats: YesWould be fine with young kids (under 10): Needs a home without kids / hustle and bustle Good with dogs: YesHome activity level: Normal to quiet.Health concerns or special needs: Deaf and vision impaired. Had senior bloodwork done recently and all looks well for a fella his age!  We believe this dog is a Long Haired Daushaund and was born around 1/20/2010. This puppy/dog is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $200 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter. If you’re interested in adopting this puppy/dog, please submit an inquiry or email BraveAnimalRescue@gmail.com to ask about our adoption process (please check your spam or junk email if you do not hear back from us within a few business days). We are 100% volunteer staffed and will respond to your email as soon as possible. After you have submitted an and been approved, we will set up a meet and greet between you and the puppy/dog. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to learn more about Brave Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2090853##

Story
Murray Miniature Dachshund Neutered Male 12 years old, 14 pounds At 12 years of age, Murray might surprise you with his enthusiasm for walks, but true to being a miniature dachshund, he also loves to snuggle and sleep under blankets. Used for breeding when he was a younger dog, Murray was adopted from a Nebraska shelter about two years ago. When his owner started working 10-hour days, she decided to responsibly rehome him. His house training is not 100% trustworthy, so he wears a belly band in the house and usually holds it until given time to potty outside. Murray has done so well with other dogs in foster care that we’d recommend a home with at least one other small dog. Murray does not play with toys and he’s not a fan of loud noises, so he’d like a quiet, peaceful home. We’ve never heard him bark and he seems to adapt easily to new situations. He seeks attention from humans, but is fairly low maintenance. Murray is also an enthusiastic eater, so he might need to be fed separately from other pets so he doesn’t eat more than his share. He's taking a joint supplement, but no other meds and his lab work is excellent. In addition, his dental issues have all been addressed. We would prefer a home with either no stairs or limited access to stairways. Murray has been a joy to foster and we look forward to choosing the best fit for his forever home.   His adoption donation request is $200 and our lifetime support option is included. Veener is a happy guy who lost his owner. He was overweight by nearly 10 lbs and has worked hard to get trimmed down for a healthy life. He loves to snuggle and play with other pups in a big yard.

Story
Rosie is a 7 1/2 yr old female mix but don't let her hear you call her a middle aged woman. Rosie identifies as an Olympic athlete in training. She is reluctantly appreciative of healthier food and portion control in order to meet that goal. She will always choose the longer, hillier route in our walks. She came to us with bladder stones, but thankfully, those stones were removed and she is learning she can trust her bladder again.Rosie has done very well with other dogs in our playgroups. She really appreciates human contact, love and attention. She would love to live out her best life in a compassionate home. If that is your home come out and meet her. The adoption fee is $200 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##2051865##
