Story
Leo is a stunning 3-year-old Dalmatian weighing around 60 pounds. This sweet boy is initially shy but quickly warms up to show his affectionate side, following you around like a shadow. Leo needs a slow intro with dogs. He needs only older, respectful children in his forever home. He is good with cats, and even geese and goats! He’s fully house trained. Leo’s previous owner surrendered him due to personal reasons. Leo has some separation anxiety and would benefit from training.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 9, 2025, 9:10 pm

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Chase is the name of this sweet and adorable pup.  We are told he is a Dalmatian/boxer mix and is about 4 months old.  The family that had gotten him decided they were not ready for a puppy.  While we can understand that puppies are a lot of work because frankly they really are, we want Chase's next family to be his last so please before applying do some research on the Dalmatian breed and be prepared for bringing home a high energy pup!  Chase is a lovely boy who is already very eager to do what the humans ask of him.  He is still working on the potty training thing so having patience and a consistent schedule for him will be important while he learns this important skill.  Chase loves other dogs, doesn't like the cold and loves toys!  He is cautious when meeting new people and because of this we would encourage any new family to actively work at helping Chase have new positive experiences and to meet new people in a safe and friendly way.  Dalmatians are sensitive dogs that need quite a bit of exercise and socialization to be well balanced dogs.  Chase will likely be about 60 pounds when grown and be very athletic so while he will likely love some couch cuddle time it will only be after a good run or good interactive play session. Chase is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  He will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract and his adoption fee is $300.00.  Are you ready for a spunky boy with lots of love to give that has big feelings and is ready to go for a run or perhaps a ride in your fire truck should you happen to have one of those???  December 26, 2024, 2:02 pm

Story
Social Miss Rue is what we'd call a 'forever puppy'! She LOVES being cuddled, coddled, and loved on by anyone AND anything! Whether it's other dogs, of all shapes and sizes, or even cats! She only ever wants to make more friends!! Rue has such a lovable, darling personality as she matches EVERYONE'S energy, whether you want to snuggle, play, chill out, she is IN! At about 9 months old, and only about 45 pounds, we know she will FIT into just about any home, but are you ready to share your bed, your sofa, your blankets, AND give her all the fun under the sun? With this girl that's not too difficult! Challenging her brain with treat puzzles, training, or even kongs with peanut butter wear her out quicker than all else! Not to mention her LOVE for playing fetch! Due to Rue's amazing behavior, we believe she is house-broken, and we KNOW she's crate trained, AND knows her simple commands with the lure of a treat!

Story
Apollo came to HSNEI from another Humane Society. He is an all around happy guy who is looking for a good natured family who will play with him, scratch behind his ears, and take him on walks. Apollo especially likes fetch with a frisbee, and retrieves perfectly. He lived with two other dogs in his previous home and thinks he might enjoy a new dog brother or sister. He knows sit and is willing to learn other tricks as long as there is a bacon or peanut butter reward involved. If his affectionate personality and kind eyes have intrigued your family, fill out an adoption form today; www.hsnei.org/adoptabledogs!!

Story
Hi my name is Lulu! I am what people believe to be an Australian Kelpie/Shepherd Mix and was born sometime around October, 2023. I am a petite girl, weighing in at just over 30 lbs. I was found roaming around town, an itty bitty girl, hungry and scared of everything around me, dreaming and praying I would be taken in and cared for the way I deserved to be. My dreams came true one day when a really nice family found me and couldn't bear to let me stay out in the cold rain. Now, I'm embarking on a new chapter - learning the ropes of family life in a home bustling with children and another furry friend. At first, I wasn't sure about toys or beds or anything comfortable since I had never had these amenities before. Because I was always scavenging for food, and although I now never miss a nutritious meal, I can sometimes get nervous that this resource will not last. I do let my foster siblings share my water bowl with me now and I've gained some healthy weight since I've been with my foster family. Now that I've been able to learn from my humans, I LOVE toys!! They're so fun to play with and run after! Balls are my absolute favorite! I have even learned to like my doggie bed, especially when my foster humans lay with me. I do still prefer no blankets in my crate when I am left alone or checking in for the night but have recently been sleeping in my foster parent's bed and I sleep like a dream! My foster Mom says I'm a beautiful, sweet and spunky girl. She loves my playful bouncy energy and that I like to cuddle up for belly rubs when I'm tired. Because I love to run and play so much, I would love an active family, with children 10 or older, that will take me on adventures and a fenced in yard of my own so I can zoom around safely! I can't wait to find my forever family! I would do great in a home with another playful, medium to large dog, to show me the ropes and even older human siblings old enough to throw my toys for me! Lulu is potty trained, up to date on vaccinations, has been dewormed, microchipped and spayed. She is participating in basic obedience training with our trainer so her adopters will be required to continue this training until completed, paid for by APL. Lulu will do best in a home with a physically fenced yard so she can run and play safely. Applications can be submitted at: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs
