Story
Draco is not a Spotty Dog. We are just posting as a courtesy.  Contact Sam at the email below. Draco, a Doberman-German Shepherd mix, is estimated to be six years old. He was adopted in June 2020 and we celebrate his birthday on February 14. We don’t know the history of him before his adoption but he was found roaming the streets of Houston, TX. Draco is great with kids, loves walks, rides in the car and knows basic commands – sit, down, off, in your house (his crate) and he will sit at the door before we let him out. He is fully potty-trained, doesn’t mark and sleeps through the night (in his crate – we tried to let him go loose but he prefers his house with is blankie and his baby). He loves his toys and chews and loves his people. Draco has been a great member of our family, being a great big brother to our pugs and several foster dogs but lately he has not been getting along with our pug. They used to “squabble” here and there, when food was involved (he and the other two pugs have ALWAYS been fed in their houses). But this past week he and the pug have just not see eye to eye and at 93 pounds, Draco is winning the battles. He has gone after our “middle pug” three times and injured him pretty badly, giving him a large gash on his head and nearly hitting his eye. In Draco’s defense, the pug has a HUGE Napoleon complex and will not back down when Draco challenges him. I can’t risk my small kids getting in between it. There are no triggers when Draco decides he needs to be the dominant one. This last time my youngest got scratched by Draco’s paw and I fear that it could be his teeth. This is the most difficult decision we have ever had to make regarding our fur babies but I can’t risk the kids or the pugs getting severely injured. Draco has always been a wonderful dog, but we feel he needs to be the only animal in the house so he can get all the attention Draco is up to date on shots, neutere, has no allergies and is a good boy at the vet. He loves all kids but older kids would be best as he forgets he is 93 pounds and jumps. He is also not good with cats or small animals as he is prey-driven by nature. He has gotten a mouse in our house and two birds in our yard. But he’s smart, dedicated and a good boy. He loves nothing more than to snuggle on the love seat with his blanket while we watch TV. He also loves to go in the kids’ small pool and splash around. If you are interested in adding him to your home, please contact Sam at Samantha.Lowd@gmail.com. ##2370439##

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Danbury, Glastonbury, or Lisbon CT. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Zeus is a happy, goofy boy who’s sure to bring a smile to your face—especially because he flashes the cutest smile when he’s happy! He’s a total sweetheart who leans in close for affection when he’s standing next to you. Medium-sized and about 40 pounds, Zeus is the perfect size for cuddles and adventures. He gets along great with all the dogs and loves to run around the backyard. With his long legs, he’ll even leap right over his playmates if they’re in the way! This charming guy loves treats, toys, and soaking up all the attention he can get. Zeus is the kind of dog who brings joy wherever he goes. He’s truly a good boy just waiting for his forever family. Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
