Story
Thor is a stunning, tall drink of water who does not disappoint in the personality department. You can easily see why we would say he is a Doberman, though we cannot guarantee it given he is a rescue. One of the first things almost everyone noticed and loved- he has his natural ears and tail- not docked or clipped which perfectly fits his gentle and goofy personality. One of my favorite little things he does is what we call the love-lean. This is when a dog not only wants to be close but also leans their body into your legs as you stand together. Its not laziness either, the way he pulls his head back to look at you lovingly tell you everything- he wants to be close for a moment of physical affection.
Thor is estimated to be 2 years old and he weighs 72 lbs. Just like with breed, we cannot guarantee age but our veterinary team is experienced in aging a dog using physical markers. Thor is so fortunate as is being fostered by an experienced dog trainer who is actively engaging him in regular socialization, behavior training, and doggie playtime. This has helped truly highlight Thor’s wonderful personality. He is friendly when meeting new people, gentle with children, playful but polite with other dogs, and has a great set of basic commands. On top of all of that, he is both house and crate trained.
Given his size, Thor is best suited for a home with a yard. Room to run, stretch those legs, play, and explore is his dream life, add in a playful dog to do it all with and her is in heaven. When introduced to new dogs, Thor is polite but whether it is passing on leash or during an on-leash greeting, Thor’s eagerness to play is easy to see and he has shown he does well with other dogs, with a playful, respectful nature. His ideal canine-companion would be a low-to medium energy level female who is playful but also enjoys some downtime in the form of breaks and/or long naps He loves kids and they get so excited by his size and good looks so expect the occasional kid to ask if they can pet him. Whether its kids out in the world or kids of your own, Thor will shine as a gentle giant with a side of funny friend. He will make a wonderful family dog and would be perfect for slightly older kids who will enjoy his playful energy without the risk of being knocked over when playing.
While Thor has basic leash skills he is excited to get out and explore the world which can occasionally mean he will pull on leash. He corrects easily with a simple verbal reminder or leash snap. Regular walks, hikes, brewery visits (one of his favorites) help curb this and it is always short lived according to his foster parents. They regularly take him out and about and praise the balance of friendly without being pushy. When out at a brewery he will lay down by their table, getting up to greet someone without insisting on greeting everyone passing by.
Thor’s affectionate nature and eagerness to bond will make him a fantastic addition to a family, couple, or single person. He is a well-mannered loving companion who is going to bering so much charm and playfulness into your life.
If you're looking for a best friend who’s up for fun and will always keep a smile on your face, Thor is your guy! If he has already worked his charm on you- apply today. A boy like this won’t be available for long.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
