UPDATE: Coco “Bean” came to BDR a few months ago, so overweight walking the neighborhood was too much. Today, the slimmer girl is now doing interval training with her foster mom. Her high prey drive makes way for hours in the yard squirrel hunting, she even try to climb the trees with her new figure. She will do better with similar sized dogs. This lady loves and demands cuddles and sometimes you can get a glimpse of a grin. ——————————- Coco is a stunningly beautiful fawn girl that is 8 years old. Her life has been spent being a Mama dog but now it's time for Coco to be spoiled. Her foster Mom says Coco is the sweetest girl she has ever had. Loves to lay in the sunshine. But like many dobies does not care for fireworks or thunderstorms. To soothe her during these stressful times she will carry around her foster Mom's shoe and that makes her feel better. Guess it's like having her puppies again. Currently lives with a very young dobie boy and she tolerates him for the most part. As you can imagine Coco isn't wanting to be bothered with a young pup too much, she has done that enough in life. Coco is looking for a family that wants to treat her like the queen bee that she deserves to be. A stroll around the neighborhood or just relaxing in the yard with her people will be her ideal day.

Story
Spirit lives up to his name, a very high-spirited fella of 7 years old but don't let that number fool you he certainly doesn't act like a more mature dobie. Loves people and does great with female dogs that are of similar size. However, he has a massive prey drive and CAN NOT be trusted anywhere in the area of a smaller creature, especially a cat or small dog. He has proven this to be true by "catching" one of each. Spirit can and will jump over a 5 foot fence (maybe higher) to get to what he feels he needs to catch. Spirit is soon to go into a training program that will help him with his much needed leash manners along with basic training. He is a very strong boy (over 90 pounds) and never had any leash training. Every person that has met him says Spirit is the sweetest dog. He has great house manners and very respectful of other dogs his size. We have only had him around a female dobie so no idea how he would be with male dogs. Can't wait to see how Spirit does in training, we are sure he will excel since he is such a smart boy.

Nala is an almost 3 year old beautiful blue dobie girl. She gets along great with other dogs, matter of fact she has a best friend in doggy daycare! No kitties for Nala, they are far too interesting for her. Nala loves play time but also can settle down for quiet time to hang out with you. We are told she love cuddle and rubs under her chin and belly. Nala has been to training but could use a refresher on her leash skills. If you are looking for a dobie girl to join your family and you have a nice securely fenced yard this may be the one you have been waiting for.

Meet Bertha, a mature dobie lady that has nothing but love to give. She is 7 or 8 years old, but she has lots of spunk left in her. Bertha came to rescue because her owner was unable to care for her any longer. Any and everyone that meets her is amazed how sweet and happy she is. Bertha seems to get along with other dogs, especially ones closer to her size. Doesn't want to cause any trouble. Kitties on the other hand are a bit too much for her curiosity so best she goes to a no kitty household. Bertha is house and crate trained. Would love to take a walk each day to enjoy getting out and socializing. If you have room in your home and heart for this lovely lady please go to our website and submit an application.

Taffy is 5 years old and a lovable fawn dobie lady despite how she was treated prior to coming into rescue. But now she is safe and happy and enjoying getting to know her foster doggy siblings. Gets along great with all sizes of dogs. No cat test has been done. She has not been around small children either but with her temperament we think she will be fine with children over the age of 8. Taffy has very soulful eyes that tell you all you need to know about her sweetness. She wants to please you and loves to take walks. Taffy is a bit of a foodie; she isn't picky about her dog food or treats. She will even get a tasty treat off the counter if you leave one there. Quickly learning that is not behavior of a dobie lady. Taffy is a bit of a laid-back girl so she would not like to be in an extra busy household or one that has a young dog that is hyper. She has been a Mommy dog several times over so it's her time to relax and be a family pet. Taffy came to us heartworm positive and is doing treatment now. She will be spayed after treatment and ready for her new home then, that will be sometime in June. But she is ready now to meet a new potential family.

I got Raven from a friend of a friend. her previous owner was a blind, double leg amputee veteran. He passed away and some family friends watched Raven for several months. She does well around other dogs just not cats. Deceased owners family friends told me she was good with cats. My cat has medical issues and Raven always tries to assert dominance and run her off. I’ve been keeping them separated but last week Raven pounced on my cat full force. Raven is high energy and loving I just can’t continue to have her.
