The Owners agreed to surrender her to rescue. They did take her to the vet and addressed all needed juvenile vaccines and deworming - they were just not prepared for a large breed. They have smaller dogs in the home but as she grew and needed more attention, her family put her outside then scolded her for digging and chewing. Vicky loved being with the children but without training, her jumping and constant pleas for attention caused frustration.

Meet Sheba! This sweet girl is approximately 8-10 years young and is believed to be a Doberman / Super-mutt mix?! She’s about 70 lbs. but could definitely stand to lose a few lbs. Sheba was the longest resident at St Clair County Animal Control, after being surrendered by her owner in September because they were moving and couldn’t take her with them. She was a shelter favorite to all the volunteers and would hold her potty 14-16 hours at a time to not have an accident in her cage! She’s a very clean and classy girl and still very much potty trained in her foster home. She loves soft blankets, being cozy in her pig jammies, cuddling, and playing with toys. For being a large dog you’d never know how old she is because she can keep up with her younger foster 🐶 siblings like you’d never believe! Sheba has “happy feet” and prances when she’s excited and it’s quite possibly the cutest thing ever 😍 She is crate trained but we believe after proper decompression she won’t even need to be crated when left alone. She is dog friendly with slow and proper introductions but does seem to do best with other slower speed/ calmer dogs as she can be a bit of a sassy granny to the youngins ;) Sheebs walks well on the leash for the most part and is a gentle and sweet girl. We adopted Mando from Animal Control in March of 2022. He had come in as a stray so we don't know any of his previous history. The vet's best guess is that he's between 6 & 8 years old. We have been strongly advised by our vet to rehome Mando with a family without small children. He's a sweet dog who loves his people, loves to cuddle, and play fetch with his ball. He is also extremely anxious and is very dog-reactive when on a leash, behind a window, in the yard, or in the car. Upon first sight of another dog, he explodes with panicked barking, pacing, and whining. He is also very excitable and can get wound up rather quickly with his people running around or playing roughly with him. He has displayed herding behavior during family playtime. He plays very well with other dogs when allowed to interact, such as at dog parks or friends' houses with dogs.
