Story
My name is AJ and I am estimated to be between 3-5 years old.    I feel so blessed that I was able to get into a rescue after being picked up as a stray and sent to a shelter.    Shelters and rescues all over the country are full so I am very lucky to have been rescued. I am an all natural boy with a full tail.    Sometimes I like to chase it! I am friendly and playful.   I am an adolescent male who needs training and patience.    I need to go to a home with people who have current Doberman experience who have the time and patience to work with me. I cannot go into a home with little dogs or cats. If you are interested in me please go to www.doberescue-ne.orgAll of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note:In most cases we require a fenced yard.We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.Copyright © 2007 - Omaha Doberman RescueFor more information or to fill out an adoption request please visithttp://www.doberescue-ne.org/August 13, 2024, 11:26 pm

Story
My name is Willow.  You might remember me as so many of your were supportive of me and my babies.  The girls have moved on to their own lives and I must do the same now. I am approximately 3 years old.  I have been spayed and am ready to go! Look at how beautiful am and how well I am doing! I didn’t get much training in my former life so I don’t know a lot of commands but I am more than willing to learn and to please.  I love getting attention from my foster mom and anyone else I meet.  I am a very sweet girl. Now that I’m not raising babies anymore I can just be me.  I am learning what it is like to play and be a bit mischievous at times.  It is nice to be able to do that.  I have done well with my bathroom duties while in foster so when I move on to a new home I should train up easily in that department.  I will need obedience training and some work on leash training. I have been tested with other dogs and did much better with females but it will be important to introduce me and see how it goes. Please go to www. Doberescue-ne.org to read the rules and adoption area and the application can be found there as well.  I am so looking forward to my future life! Story
My name is Amos and I about 2-3 years old. I am a handsome all natural blue boy. I had a family once and I thought things were good but, apparently, they weren’t because one day I was just taken out and dumped in the middle of nowhere and left to fend for myself.  I did not understand why, It was a scary time but fortunately someone got me to a shelter and the kind people there took care of me and found a rescue who would take me.  They even drove me for many hours to get me to the rescue. I am not one to hold grudges, so I took the journey in stride and loved on all of my drivers all of the way to Nebraska.  I was just so grateful for the help! I am looking forward to my new family so let me tell you some things about myself. I am a blue with a decent coat.  Well, let me just say that I am handsome, ok?  I am!  I am a nice boy and like people.  I think that every dog I see is someone I should play with. I have not met any cats yet.  I was a model passenger in the car and did not try to tell people how to drive.  I don’t do too badly on a leash, either. I am neutered and vaccinated and ready to start over. If you want a handsome addition to your family, meet the adoption criteria, and are in the correct area shown on the rescue website (www.doberescue-ne.org), please fill out an application for me.  I am not famous like the cookie guy but the ladies sure do like me.All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. Story
My name is Calliope and I am estimated to be about 5 years old.  Until recently, my job was having puppies and that was all I did.  Then, one day, for whatever reason, I was dumped at a shelter. I guess that was the thanks I got for all that I did but I am not one to hold grudges.  I am ready to move forward!    The shelter helped get me into rescue. I am an incredibly beautiful girl with a beautiful soul to match!  I am sweet and loving and playful.  I am not overly fond of male dogs right now but do ok with females.  I would have to just be introduced to see.  Males had wanted me for the wrong reasons most of my life so I need time to see things differently. More information will be posted about me as the volunteers get to know me better. Story
Meet our handsome Kai!! He was born 1/26/24 in MO. He found himself tossed in a box with his littermate and was about to be thrown in a dumpster when a young college guy from Omaha saw what was happening and saved them. He currently weighs 68 lbs and is believed to be a Catahoula/Doberman Pinscher mix. This big guy is around 7 months old and weighs in at 68 lbs. While we don't know the exact ingredients, Kai has a fun personality! He's curious, friendly, goofy, and very food motivated. He enjoys having other dogs to interact with, and is often found in the play bow position with his long tail wagging. He’d love another resident dog. Kai is great with all other dogs. He shows great interest in chasing rabbits, squirrels, and birds though. While he is very friendly with all humans, Kai would do best in a home with older children…Mostly just because he is a big guy and still very much a puppy learning basic manners. Kai is fully housebroken and has had no accidents in his foster home. He’s crate trained and will go right into his kennel with the help of some high value treats. Kai is only kenneled when his foster Mom leaves the house. He has been very good free roaming the house when provided with appropriate toys and chew bones. Kai walks well on leash, but a fenced yard would be a big plus for him to help with his energy level…Not to mention how much fun it is to watch him romp around excitedly with his long tail flying high! Kai will alert you of sounds and suspicions and he would love another resident dog in the house to play with. If big feet, floppy ears, and a mile long tail are your thing, fill out an application! He is neutered now, fully vaccinated, microchipped, had an exam and fecal, and is ready for adoption! His adoption donation fee is $400. PLEASE APPLY DIRECTLY IN THE DROP DOWN MENU AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! August 19, 2024, 2:49 pm

Story
Anubis is a cuddler. He prefers to be inside watching TV with you. He doesn’t like 4th of July fireworks and will want to stay inside that night (he doesn’t have any other negative behaviors). He has a sister that he hangs out with so will be fine with other dogs. He lives with cats and leaves them alone but on occasion they will fall asleep together. He loves having a blanket. He will do best in a home with older children. He likes to play with little ones like they are puppies too and his 70lbs out weighs most little ones under 4.
