They had been living at an urban residence, mainly outside with a dozen other dogs. They are shy but ok with affection from strangers. Foster homes will be working on socializing them to car rides, new places, playing and basic commands. They will BLOOM with just a little love and attention. Dandelion and her litter sisters Dahlia & Daffodil were born 08-18-2024 Fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and on prevention. Story
Dakota was found wandering in Houston - no collar, no microchip and with the local shelter being at capacity - she went home with a nice family. She was such a good girl, getting along with other dogs and being gentle and sweet with humans, it did not take long to find a foster to care for Dakota. She appears to have had a litter of puppies in her past, our Vet aged her at just 2 years old. Now Spayed, heartworm treated and up to date on vaccines - this big softy (weighing in at 78 lbs) is seeking a family. Housetrained, crate trained and loves car rides. Appears to be a mixed breed mostly of Doberman (black with rust markings) a docked tail and naturally floppy ears. Dewormed, Vaccinated, Spayed, Microchipped and on prevention after heartworm treatment - she is ready to travel this Spring. Story
Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. HIS-tory: Chandler lived with a young family in an apartment (purchased from a breeder) until he was 'too big' and surrendered to a shelter. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb dog. Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He has been slow introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Christopher is thriving and now showing all of his Doberman potential - his paws, height is back on track to be a tall big boy. He is working on potty training (just needs a schedule to keep from accidents), socializing daily with big dogs. He is crate trained when his foster is away but enjoys dog beds and napping on the couch. Christopher has a healthy appetite for play - he empties the toy box multiple times a day to find squeakers, drag ropes around, lick stuffed animals and chew on bones. Fawn (light brown, with rust markings) coloring typically do have sensitive skin/coats. As he appears to be a purebred Doberman with a long tail, floppy ears. Dewormed, Vaccinated, Neutered, Microchipped and on prevention - he is ready to grow in a forever family in 2025. He appeared to be just 5 months old, based on teeth - losing his puppy teeth and with mostly adult teeth. His small size is likely the result of poor nutrition. Rescue dewormed him aggressively and addressed bacterial infections before seeing an improvement in his appetite. His coat was blotchy and with a skin infection, he was started on antibiotics. He needed time for his gut to recover on quality food while healing his skin. Now he is Thriving and Growing!

Story
Carter is one special character - he is a red Doberman with a docked tail, floppy ears and medium build (healthy weight 60-65 lbs). Carter loves playing; rough housing, tossing toys, running and bouncing around. His 'special' character is his complete lack of maturity. Poorly socialized, but we also suspect, Carter was dropped on his head as a puppy or maybe fetal alcohol syndrome, his goofy face shows some developmental signs (eyes are too far apart) but otherwise, he's just HAPPY and DUMB. He is dog friendly, will let other males dominate him or push him down. He can be nippy due to his constant state of puppy - not mean, other dogs correct him. His foster has been working on his nippy, teethy grab for treats and awareness of hands. He needs a yard to run and downtime inside in a kennel with his stuffies at naptime. Due to Carter's low IQ - we recommend a home with older teens so no one gets mad that he takes fingers with treats when overstimulated. Training will take time, repeat and focus - maybe even a few beers for his humans. Carter SMILES the entire time and is happy to be in training, but retains little. Dobermans are known for their incredible ability to learn and observe to teach themselves. Carter identifies as a Lizard some days, other days as a Chicken. We have tried to explain to him, his amazing breed and the expectations. We want him to be LOVED for his goofiness. Favorite Color: HOT PINK Favorite Toy: Stuffed Bear Favorite Food: Meatballs by Milo's Kitchen HIS-STORY: This dude was kicked out of his home for being 'too puppy' - the shelter called rescue and it was noted, Carter did not know how to walk on a leash, was not house trained or used to any commands. He was in 'play' mode all the time and happy to have dog friends. Crate trained to force some routine and sanity at his foster home, Carter has matured (slightly) and has (some) manners. Now neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm treated (he tested positive at intake).
