Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to the Pittsburgh area. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Story
Introducing a very special boy looking for a special home -- Buck! This fellow is approximately 2 years old and is truly a great dog with a great personality through and through.  Dobermans are a fiercely loyal breed who will take his duties to protect his flock very seriously. Buck is highly intelligent and good with his manners but very high energy. He loves people and does well with dogs his size and energy level. His high energy would most likely not be welcomed by cats however. Buck will do best in a lower traffic, adult-only or older, dog-savvy children household that understands his need for exercise and play time. Not a dog for first-time dog owners, Buck will be a fantastic companion for those who meet his criteria and understand the breed.  Buck is a courtesy post for the Brooke County Animal Shelter. Please contact them at 304-394-0800 for more information on Buck or to set up a time to meet this wonderful boy!  March 23, 2025, 5:03 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Noodle is a spunky velcro pup who is high energy, loves to play, and loves to cuddle during her breaks from play time. Noodle was very polite when introducing herself to the other members of the pack at her foster home, including the goats and pig. She plays really well with the rest of the dogs at her foster home and seems to pick up on boundaries well. She does not mind sharing her space with other dogs. Noodle is currently working on potty training and accepting time away from her foster mom. But who can blame her for being so attached to her foster mom?? She was skinny and scared and all alone on the streets! Noodle will be someone's best friend and she would prefer to have a family that is around home alot, maybe someone who works from home? She won't be like all the OTHER coworkers :) She will let you work in peace and quiet, as long as she is next to you napping :D Adopt this petite girl, she will help make all your dreams come true!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
