Story
Meet Maggs- a 3 year old female Caucasian Shepard (Ovcharka). Maggs is a special dog that will require a family who has done their homework on the breed. Although she is a bit timid to new things, she is a defender of her people and property. She would make a great guard dog. When not guarding, she enjoys chewing on toys and exploring new scents. She is crate trained and enjoys car rides. She has been known to dig herself out of a kennel, so do not assume a fenced in yard will contain her. She has a high prey drive and will chase cars and people on the road. Her next owner will need to be strong (she is 100lbs) and attentive to dog behavior/body language to ensure Maggs gets the proper breed enrichment and channels her energy properly.

Story
Blue (A124509) is a 4-year-old Lab x Pitbull mix who weighed 58.4 pounds on intake! 03/06/25 Sweet Blue is back at the shelter and looking for his perfect fit! We was described as an absolutely amazing dog but sadly did not get along with the cat in the home. Blue is looking for a cat-free home environment! Blue was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and LOVES going on car rides! He was said to do great with people of all ages and his adoptive owner felt he would really enjoy going to a home with children. Blue was also said to have gotten along splendidly with the dogs in their home. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new potential friends! If you are interested in meeting this happy boy, please let us know! 02/27/25 This handsome boy is Blue! Blue arrived at the shelter as a stray and was seen by the shelter vet for suspected blunt trauma. He was started on an appropriate treatment plan to keep him comfortable during his stray hold. Once he defaulted to the borough, courtesy of the amazing shelter fund, he was sent out for a full work-up, including bloodwork, radiographs, and dental cleaning! Now that he has received the care he needed he is looking for his new place to call home! Since he was a stray, we do not know his history with other animals or children. At the shelter, he has been very polite. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and animals. He also did an excellent job at keeping his kennel clean indicating that he may already be housebroken! Blue does have a history of being at large so he is looking for an owner who will be able to keep him restrained. If you are interested in meeting Blue, please let us know! March 20, 2025, 11:14 pm
