Story
Skeletor, or Skelly, is almost 2 years old and has spent most of his life on a farm with other dogs and some cats. We had to move and in our new home I am no longer able to keep him long term. Skelly is in excellent health and is up to date on all his shots and preventatives. He is very gentle and friendly. He has gets along well with dogs, cats, and small children. He loves to play with other dogs, though he likes alone time with his people. Despite his breed he is pretty quiet. Skelly is very active, he needs a big yard to play in or lots of walks, he is a great hiking or walking companion, he loves to ride in the car and will wait patiently if you have to run errands. He loves to cuddle and share space. He will come with dog food, a bed, and toys. We want to find him a loving home where he can get the attention and play he needs so he can be his best happiest self. He will make a great companion. We would like to be able to pass on birthday gifts for him to his new new owners.

Story
Calypso is a very friendly and happy girl. You may notice that she has one eye that appears to be small and makes it look like she is squinting; she was examined by our Vet and our best guess is that Calypso was injured at a young age and her injuries healed on their own. She is not in any pain. She is happy and full of life! Calypso came to us as a stray, so we do not know if she has lived with other animals or children. She did arrive to the shelter with a dog friend, but it is unknown if they lived together previously or just became friends while on their journey! She has had a friendly demeanor around the other dogs in the shelter as well. Calypso likes to stay active and being outside, sniffing everything around her is one of her favorite things to do! She is oh so wiggly and every time she is told that she is a good girl she will jump up to say thanks! Calypso appears to be potty trained and keeps her space clean. She does know the cue `sit` but tends to become sidetracked easily! Calypso could benefit from learning some additional leash manners but overall does really good. She just lets her nose lead the way. Calypso is so sweet, and we adore her bubbly personality. We think she is perfect. If you feel that your home would be a good fit for Calypso, we would love for you to meet her!

Story
Delta (A137038) is an 3-year-old Alaskan husky who weighed almost 50 lbs at intake!12/28/24 This ragtag little team of huskies was brought to the shelter because their previous musher did not feel they had the endurance for the longer races they wanted to do. Jim Jim, Charlie, Alphie, Delta, Zulu, Oscar and Whiskey have only ever lived as outside dogs, so it may take them a little time to adjust to indoor life, including potty training. All seven of these dogs were a little uncomfortable walking on tile floor when they arrived at the shelter, so they are also hoping their next homes will be patient in helping them learn the ropes of indoor life. Although they were booted from their last team, they still have a lot of energy and may just need a recreational musher or one who does shorter races. Jim Jim was said to have been a great leader in the past. If you are interested in meeting any of these happy sled dogs, please give the shelter a call!April 25, 2025, 12:56 am
