Story
Reaves is an easy going boy who came to rescue needing cherry eye surgery which has been medically addressed. He is neutered, had a dental cleaning and polishing last week, is vaccinated, microchipped with AKC and is finally ready to be adopted into his loving forever home. STANDARD RESCUE INFORMATION: **** Please APPLY (saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form) should you be interested. **** If a dog is listed, it is available for adoption. ****Once a dog is pending adoption, this page will be updated accordingly. **** NO CALLS/TEXTS: We are an all-volunteer nonprofit organization and do not have anyone to monitor the many phone calls received in a day. We would be more than happy to review your application and ideally approve you to provide our rescued dog a loving adoptive home should your situation be the right fit for this awesome puppy. Thanks for the interest and reading this listing in its entirety. Note: All breeds and ages are our veterinarians best educated guess (unless otherwise stated that our group has breeder paperwork) **** All Frenchies must be walked with a harness (never on a neck collar). **** The rescue requires adoptive family to obtain pet insurance for coverage of congenital and hereditary conditions. This is for any of the dogs in our rescue identified as a Pug, French Bulldog or similar. Adoption will be finalized once the proof of pet insurance requirement is met. (There are some great policies ranging between $28-50per month) **** We have an open door policy and are always here to discuss anything that may arise with your adoptive pet. After an adoption is conducted please do not hesitate to reach out. **** This breed generally speaking cannot swim and will sink like bowling balls so we do not adopt out to any homes with unfenced pools. Thank you for your interest and for reading this listing in its entirety!

Story
Toby is an amazing dog that has been with me for the past 6 years. He was a lost puppy that showed up to my door step and he hasn’t left my side ever since. I tried finding his home but it seemed he was dropped off in the area. I was never looking for a dog but everything about him was what I needed in a pet. It breaks my heart that I find myself needing to break away from him but I need to do this for his own good. My schedule has gotten very busy and I’m hardly home to be with him. I can’t get another puppy because I now live in an apartment so having 2 pets would be too much. But I don’t want him to be alone or feel depressed. He’s the world’s sweetest dog and I truly want someone good with pure intentions to adopt him. My heart breaks for this moment but I pray he finds the home he deserves. He’s a full bichon poodle and has always been kept up to date with shots and grooming. The fee I’m requesting is to assure that he is going to a good person/family.

Story
Meet Ozzie (formerly Bear)! A charming 2-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise with a soft, fluffy white coat. Weighing 4.8kg, this little guy is as sweet as he is adorable. He's currently in Orillia, ON. Little Ozzie is so friendly with all people, not at all shy or hesitant with kids or strangers. He eagerly gives greetings and kisses to everyone. He’d love to be with children and other dogs his age and size who have lots of energy to play and be social. He can be nervous with bigger dogs. He’d love to be with one or two very social dogs in the home so that his wonderful social skills are rewarded. He has an adorable little snore and he’s the cuddliest boy to nap with. If you brush him, he’ll fall asleep on you (unless he's frisky). He's hilarious when he gets zoomies. Still working on housetraining, he does well going outside with routine potty breaks, and uses pads inside. Ozzie does not like to be crated, but he likes sleeping in his travel bag on the bed beside his person. This is his safe space. He will eventually sleep on the family bed or in his own bed on the floor as long as he’s not roaming the house at night as he will get into things, he’s just like a brand new puppy. For now, he enjoys his bedtime routine with the closeness of his humans and the comfort of his soft-shell carrier (it’s small and doesn’t make any clanging noises like a metal crate, which startles him); this routine keeps him feeling safe. He is a curious fellow and likes to explore his environment. He also enjoys being carried around in a fancy shoulder bag if you're shopping at pet store or going for a car ride, and yes, he’s wonderful in the car; he usually just sleeps. Ozzie is getting used to being enclosed in a large playpen, and has come a long way with spending moments on his own. This helps him with self-amusement and self-soothing, but he’s not ready to be left alone yet. Someone who works from home would be ideal, or retired couple who’d enjoy spoiling him with all the attention he could handle. Still adapting to the leash, and is good with the harness, but needs some practice/training to be less reactive to the collar and leash. Experience with rescue dogs should be considered. He’s very smart and willing to learn, but he requires much time and patience with training and adjusting to people leaving the room/home. He’s very food motivated so that can help with training, as long as he doesn’t get over-fed. He does very well with verbal praise as well. He’s a fun little guy who loves to play ball, explore the backyard, do puzzle games, fetch sticks, and he’s good with cats! He’s also a bit of an acrobat. Teach him to jump through hoops and you’ll have your own little circus dog! He’s great in the bath and he is fine being brushed or groomed at home. He's a very gentle, loving boy, and he doesn’t mind being dressed up or wearing winter jackets and sweaters. Rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje, Ozzie is ready for a loving home where he can continue to grow and experience all the joys of being a cherished companion! Story
Belle has been a part of my family since she was 6 weeks old. She is 12 and will be 13 in June. My family is moving and we are having a hard time finding a rental location that would allow us to keep her. She is a sweet girl that loves people. Because of her age she doesn’t have a lot of energy but she loves to cuddle and be around people. She goes on walks but doesn’t do very long walks. Part of this is her age but also she has issues with her back that can make long walks uncomfortable for her. She loves a good cuddle on the couch while you read or watch tv. She is house trained and crate trained. She sleeps in her crate every night and it is a safe space for her. She’s had behavioral training as well and is good on walks but is reactive to other dogs. Making the decision to rehome her is one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make but we have to move and want to find her a loving home that will care for her.
