Story
**Fostered in Seattle, WA and ready for meet and greets!** Neenah is everything you could ever want in a little pittie bestie- she’s affectionate and sweet, far more couch potato than athlete, and she’s such a good girl! Neenah would be a great family dog, or a perfect pooch for a homebody type looking to fill a spot on the couch. Neenah currently weighs in at a petite and sweet 50 pounds, and we believe her to be an Staffordshire terrier mix. She is a rescue- so these are just our best guesses. Neenah is estimated to be around 7 years old- an established good girl! Neenah has a lot to show for her age- excellent social skills, a peaceful and calm demeanor, great leash skills, excellent car rider, house trained, crate trained, calm presence, and keeps her self entertained. Even though she can keep herself busy or sit in her crate, bed or on her side of the couch, Neenah would be soooo happy to be nappy, cuddling or receiving pets while you watch tv or work. She’s spent her whole life studying up to be your perfect pup! Fall in love with Neenah here: https://youtu.be/lEFu0TvqiJE This adorable girl is best described as a medium energy girl- she’s peaceful, relaxed and calm, with a playful side that peeks out when the time is right or with the right pup! She’s warm and friendly with everyone she meets, her tail wags for all and she connects with people through eye contact and a big pittie smile. She loves snuggles and belly-rubs, and our kennel staff reports that she “melts” into their hands for affection! Sometimes she gets too excited she starts to tip sideways. I know that's hard to imagine but it is hilarious and adorable to watch lol Neenah was previously fostered in a home with other dogs, and did wonderfully living as a member of the pack. She did perfectly with her foster mom’s resident chi-mixes (there were four!) and has done well with small scruffy dogs here at the rescue. Neenah is small dog friendly! As you saw in her adoption video she also did great during her cat test. Since then she gets to spend a lot of time with the cat and puts up with his crazy play. They often cuddle on the ed. Neenah is great with dogs of all sizes, and prefers calmer dogs like herself. Her playful side comes out when she meets goofy, aloof younger dogs. Her playstyle is not rough. It is very loving with lots of kissing and chasing! Neenah is not too keen on toys, so she shares nicely with her dog friends. She isn't the best at sharing her high value treats like bully sticks with them, so she just needs to eats those in her crate! She’s tolerant and polite with everyone though. She would love strolls in the neighborhood or going basking in the sun in the back yard. Here at the rescue, Neenah was tested with kids and we found that she absolutely adores kids over ten. With our Director's kids she was putting on a show! Giving her famous booty wiggles, falling sideways from all the excitement. There weren't enough pets to go around. She loves the extra attention they bring, and the quieter nature they have compared to the littlest of little ones. There was a four year old child as well and she approached, took treats, but did not want to interact much. You could tell she felt the most at ease with the older ones and that's okay! Neenah would love to live the family dog lifestyle. Neenah has a great grasp on basic obedience. She knows “sit,” and auto-sits for treats. She walks politely on the leash. She shares treats and affection well with other dogs. She’s good in her crate here at the rescue, she doesn’t bark or whine when we enter the room, she waits patiently for her turn to hang out with us. Neenah is already such a good girl, but if you would like to pursue further training, you should know that she’s super food motivated! She takes treats so gently too, making further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. Neenah is so polite, and she has such great house manners. She’s very respectful of the furniture and waits patiently at doors. Neenah is so adored by so many, and we can’t wait to see her in her forever home. Neenah would make an amazing family dog. She is quiet, sweet and well-behaved enough to thrive as an apartment dog. We are willing to test Neenah with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Story
If you like your dogs small in size, big on love, and perfect in personality- Meet Jelly Bean! She is absolute perfection- fun size like a little Snickers, a lap lover, friend to all, playful, Queen of the Sploot and simply an all around good time! To truly understand the description you have to watch her video. Her size is much easier to grasp that way. We suspect she is a French Bulldog/Bulldog mix but, just visually, she is a mini-boxer. Given she is a rescue we cannot say with 100% certainty her breed or age. Estimated to be somewhere in the 1.5-2 year range, she weighs 30 lbs. If you adopt her and opt for a DNA test, please share the results. We love updates and DNA results are a favorite! https://youtu.be/N1ecUzNaChU Let me really introduce you to Jelly bean, first, she is so fortunate to be waiting for her adoption day in a wonderful foster family home. Her foster has shared that she is just a joy to have around and has been an easy addition to their home. From tagging along on adventures with the kids to relaxing in the back yard, Jelly Bean is just easy company. She shared that she is fully house trained and took to using the doggy door within the first day at home. Her foster home consists of two parents, two kids, and two dogs! She is great with the kids who are 11 and 12. They love that she likes to tag along when they head to the creek to fish or hope in the car to go get a snow cone. The foster mom says that Jelly Bean is absolutely the best car-rider she has ever fostered. Bean sits quietly in the back seat, choosing the middle space, and just hangs out. The fact that she isn’t jumping around or bothering the kids makes it easy to let her join for dog-friendly errands or treat runs. Plus, her size only adds to the ease. Jelly Beans two foster dog pals are complete opposites of each other and she navigates the difference in personality well. One is a young, playful male with a similar play style to hers. The two of them hit it off immediately going from playing to laying around together only for the cycle to start over a short time later. The other dog is a large and built out of laziness with stern but loving auntie energy and Bean respects her. Outside of her foster home she has been introduced to a variety of dogs and she has really shown an understanding for reading other dogs and not pushing when they are not interested. Her type, and dream buddy in her forever home, would be a playful dog with a balance of play and rest. The rest part is key, she isn’t built for endurance, she has bursts of energy that are immediately followed by sploot sessions. She is the queen of a sploot and honestly, we don’t know if she ever chooses another position. A flying super hero is what she looks like and it is a solid 10 out of 10 on the cuteness scale. She has fully mastered sit and has a great default sit when waiting for a treat or for her food to be served. She did show off a little dance though we don’t know if it is a “trick” or just a cute little thing she does. Her dream home is one that has some flexibility. She is quiet, her foster only has heard her bark one time, and she has solid leash skills so she could easily be an apartment girlie. Just the same, house with a yard life looks good on her and it gives her a natural outlet for her playful energy and random zoooms. From everything we have seen, she would enjoy having another dog in the home to play with. If an only-dog, she will benefit from regular walks, enrichment, on-going socializing and occasional days at a doggie day-care for her dog-friendly playful side to be satisfied. In the same way, she would be wonderful in a family, with slightly older kids bing the best fit- 5+ as she can be eager for love and occasionally jump up in a way that could knock over a little one on unsteady legs. I could also easily see her being the absolute best fu-baby for a couple or perfect co-pilot for a solo-flying bachelor/bachelorette. Jelly Bean would do best in a cat free home. She is very interested in cats and goes in for an overly eager chase, which whether playful or not, stresses cats out and that is no fun. Jellis a loving, playful, affectionate sweetheart who is ready to scooch in close, and maybe sneak a gentle kiss within a few moment of meeting you. Not in a pushy way though, her approach is gentle and so friendly. We were all impressed by how balanced her energy is, Sh With her easy-going nature and love for people, she is sure to be an adored and cherished companion for any family or individual looking for petite perfection! Story
If you love a dog that is as full of life as they are full of love, meet Penelope! Her whole name is Penelope Sparkles because that is exactly what she does- sparkle! From the inside out she is nothing but sparkling love and happiness. Take a look at her sparkle then come back to read more https://youtu.be/TXiJIvEWiyk Estimated to be 1 year old, Penelope is possibly a lab/Carolina dog mix. Age and breed are offered with no guarantee given she is a rescue but that personality guarantees itself and it is hard not to love. She is good company, adoring, eager to please, affectionate, fun-loving, and all around everyone's new best friend! If we are going to start with just looks, her magic is somewhere between her petite frame and her gorgeous toasted marshmallow coat. Admire from a distance while you can because for the most part, you will have a front row seat to all her details because she is an absolute lover and will be in your lap at the first sight of you sitting down looking somewhat available. Next, the best part-her personality! This is where she sparkles! First, she doesn’t know a stranger, everyone gets a Penelope greeting, complete with a hug and often sealed with a few kisses. She is young so still learning that people can see her even if she doesn’t jump up, but even her jump is mindful and gentle. She is learning quickly and has been so receptive to corrections and positive reinforcement which is basically accomplished with a handful of treats and a voice full of praise. She does know sit, or we suspect she does at least but we have no doubt her adoring nature will translate to a quick learning girl. If you live in a walkable neighborhood she is going to be a regular on the block and may even be the first one who gets greeted by the neighbors. Her playful nature is one that would be best suited for a house with a yard though with the right balance of physical exercise and mental stimulation, she could be an apartment girlie. Her friendly and joyful nature carries itself right into how she approaches dogs. On leash passing a dog was when she first showed signs of being such a playful girl. She has basic leash skills appropriate for her age and his she is easy to redirect and get to focus on continuing if a passing dog grabs her attention. When introduced to a dog on leash we knew what to expect, playfulness front and center and she delivered. She was polite, with appropriate doggie manners, but gave a play bow and some tippy tappy moves to show the other dog that she was interested and ready to play. Once leashes were dropped off they went, a chase followed by a bouncy sort of wrestle that they both enjoyed so much. This is a dog that would love a playful canine companion. Other dogs were introduced and she was just as polite but her true play match was in a similarly sized, happy-go-lucky female with a very similar approach to play. It was nice to see how respectful she was of the dogs that were not interested in playing despite her invitations, she wasn’t pushy and easily moved on. When introduced to our house cat she saw a friend and immediately wanted to play and despite our house cat being confident with dogs, he was quickly overwhelmed. So despite the fact that it was in good fun, Penelope would do best in a cat-free home to avoid attempted games of chase-the-cat in an effort to “play.” So if you are looking for a happy-heart on four legs, your search is over, you found her! We call her Penelope but you can call her yours forever! If you have any questions about Penelope or the adoption process please be in touch.
