If you have ANY QUESTIONS or are truly interested in adopting any animal from PAW Animal Shelter Please, fillout an adoption application FIRST!   WE are a high intake No Kill Shelter ran by a staff of 4 and do not always have time to answer every question asked by so many. If you are a good fit for the animal you are interested in -we will call to speak with you, If we feel you are not a good fit , we will contact you about other pets that may be a good fit for your home. Many people are losing the opportunity to adopt the animal they want because they fail to put in an application and the pet was adopted before we could answer your email. .If you have applied for an animal in our facility and have not received a response within 7 days, PLEASE call or contact us again. Though we do our best in trying to answer all emails in a timely manner, sometimes things get away from us, get lost or misplaced. It is never our intention to ignore a request about an adoptable animal in our facility. Sandy Brown, Director, PAW Animal Shelter 319-372-2274 ##2269010##

Story
Bo is a Maltese/Bichon/French Bulldog mix, born 2020.  He is looking for someone who will give him attention and allow him to be a lap dog.  He likes napping on the couch and sleeps at the end of the bed.  Bo also needs someone who will be able to tend to his grooming needs.  Maltese/Bichon mixes require regular brushing, bathing and trimming to prevent matting and keep their coats looking good.  (The groomer should know sometimes he nips a little while being groomed.) Bo is friendly with other dogs, cats, strangers and kids of all ages.  He is leash trained and knows some commands.  He needs a fenced yard so he has room to stretch his legs and explore.  Bonus points if you are home the majority of the day because he is not crate trained.  He is housebroken and will signal when he needs to go outside, but he will benefit from a refresher course in his new environment.  Help us find this sweet boy a new home - apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Bo is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Leo is a stunning 3-year-old Dalmatian weighing around 60 pounds. This sweet boy is initially shy but quickly warms up to show his affectionate side, following you around like a shadow. Leo needs a slow intro with dogs. He needs only older, respectful children in his forever home. He is good with cats, and even geese and goats! He’s fully house trained. Leo’s previous owner surrendered him due to personal reasons. Leo has some separation anxiety and would benefit from training.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 9, 2025, 9:10 pm

Story
Meet Cody, an irresistibly sweet and affectionate 5-month-old pup who’s bound to capture your heart! We believe Cody is a Lab mix, and he’s already on his way to becoming a lovable, huggable teddy bear. Currently weighing 43 pounds, we expect this gentle giant to grow to around 70 pounds when fully grown. Cody is a calm, well-mannered boy with a heart full of love. He’s not your typical hyper puppy—he enjoys relaxed moments and snuggling up with his people. He thrives in a positive reinforcement environment, where his eager-to-please nature makes him a quick learner. Plus, he’s already potty trained! While he still needs to go outside more often than an adult dog, he’s great at letting you know when it’s time by heading to the door. As an adventurous spirit, Cody loves to run and explore, so a secure, fenced yard is essential to keep him safe and allow him to burn off some energy. He’ll be happiest in a home where he can continue to grow and flourish with plenty of love, attention, and opportunities for adventure. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and easygoing companion who will fill your days with joy, Cody might be the perfect match for you. Come meet this sweet boy today—he’s excited to find his forever family! Could that be you? Cody is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. If you would like to meet Cody, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Cody, you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.
