My name is Smokie. I’m a 4-5 year old, 10 lb Poodle mix I’m not interested in marathon games of fetch or acting like I drank three espressos. I’d rather take a nice walk, supervise whatever you’re doing, and then settle onto the couch. If there’s room next to you, great. If not, I’ll just perch on the back of the couch behind your head. I enjoy being with my people. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids. I’m also crate trained, potty trained, and have good house manners because I’ve evolved beyond the need for chaos. I came into rescue from a local neglect case, but you’d never know it now. My foster family helped me realize life is actually pretty awesome when you’re loved well. I’m now neutered, fully vetted, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and officially accepting applications from people who appreciate a low-maintenance best friend. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
