?? ?? Meet Luna – The Sweetest Soul Looking for Her Forever Home! ??Luna is a beautiful, wise, and gentle dog with kind eyes that seem to hold a lifetime of love. While she has a calm and serene spirit, Luna also has a playful, puppy-like side that comes out when she chases leaves, pounces in the snow, or does summersaults with joy. What Makes Luna Special??? Sweet and Loving: Everyone who meets Luna calls her “sweet.” She adores belly rubs, snuggles, and just being close to her humans.?? Super Smart: Luna is eager to please and a quick learner. She mastered “sit” and “don’t touch” in a week and has perfected her house-training with positive reinforcement.?? Playful and Fun: Luna has no resource guarding issues and will happily drop a toy for another throw. Her zoomies are legendary, and she loves to run and play with other dogs.?? Great with Kids and Dogs: Luna is friendly, gentle, and loves to play with other dogs. Her puppy energy shines through when she has a buddy to romp with.?? She LOVES the snow and is happiest outdoors or playing with her people.Separation AnxietyWhile Luna is an incredible dog, she does struggle with separation anxiety. When left alone, she panics but will eventually settle in her safety crate. However, this is a work in progress, and Luna needs an adopter who can be patient and consistent as she learns to feel safe and secure. Having another dog in the home could significantly ease her anxiety, as she draws comfort from companionship. What Luna Needs:Luna deserves a home filled with love, patience, and the promise that she will never be abandoned again. She would thrive in a family where she gets plenty of affection, playtime, and reassurance. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and truly amazing companion, Luna is ready to bring endless joy and love into your life.Luna is spayed and up to date with age appropriate vaccines. She has been treated for fleas and internal parasites. Complete our online adoption application http://www.coastalk9.ca/adopt. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SPIKE was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought his mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. He was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with his siblings, his mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. SPIKE was neutered on 25 November, he is current on his vaccinations, although he will require his rabies as he is currently too young for that vaccine. He is microchipped and at the time of his neuter surgery weighed 13.40 pounds. We do not know what breed he is mixed with, but can confidently say his mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. SPIKE is a young pup and so his personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how he behaves as he grows up. There is no reason for him to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make him fearful or hurt him. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. SPIKE will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing him to as many environments as possible, but in a way that he is comfortable, safe and happy. H is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands he will be teething, s=he will be going through his "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Spike has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. RHEA was saved on 21st September from southern Maine heavily pregnant and the night we got her to the rescue was the night she gave birth to 8 previous puppies. She is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine. Rhea has been estimated to be around 2.5 years old and at the time of her spay surgery weighed 58.40 pounds. Rhea went for her spay surgery, rabies, HW/tick testing and unfortunately she tested positive for heartworm disease. She has been started on treatment which involves one month of antibiotics and then will undergo a course of injections to kill the heartworms. She is being treated in Augusta, Maine so should anyone want to give this amazing sweet girl who just keeps getting dealt with some hard blows, a loving home and life, you would just need to commit to her appointments and follow the instructions whilst under treatment. All treatment costs will be covered by the rescue. Rhea is incredibly sweet girl and is just desperate for love and attention to the point where she can be a bit over-bearing and needy, however, I am sure when she is with her own family and has settled in and understands that she will now be getting all the love she will ever need, she will get a lot better. She does cower a lot so I am not sure if she has been subjected to any abuse but other than that she is extremely affectionate. She has been great with other dogs and lives in a communal setting and has been with both males and females. She does get a little jealous if the other dog is getting attention, but she is learning to understand that sharing is good. She likes to hoard all toys and of course loves things with squeaks. We do not know anything about this sweet girls history and so we just want to start her new future with an amazing family who can give her a loving, active, life full of adventure, great food, toys and treats. We do not know how she is with cats or other creatures, and although she has not been around small children, other than he wanting to be the center of attention, and wanting love I have no concerns as long as the children are respectful to her. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.      She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. RHEA has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application.
