Story
Teddy / Neutered Male / 2.5 years / Miniature Poodle / 15lbs / Dogs: Yes, calm ones / Cats: Not sure / Kids: Yes, 12+ Meet Teddy - Your New Best Friend! Hi, I’m Teddy. I came from what many people call a “puppy mill,” but for me, it was a real-life nightmare. I spent my days in a small cage with other dogs, barely getting fresh food and water. The only time I saw humans was when they roughly moved us from cage to cage, and to be honest, I was scared of them. I didn’t know what love was, or even what a real home was. But then everything changed. One day, a kind family came and took me to their home. It was warm, peaceful, and safe – a place where I could finally feel what it’s like to be loved. I now have two doggy foster brothers who came from the same background, and I was amazed at how they trusted their humans and how gentle and kind everyone is. Slowly, I’ve learned that not all humans are scary, and that most dogs are treated with love and care in their homes. I’m so grateful for this new life, and I’m excited to find a forever home where I can feel safe and loved every day. A little about me: • I’m a quiet guy who loves chicken, cheese, and plain Timbits (yum!). • I enjoy relaxing on a comfy couch or bed – comfort is key! • I prefer calm, peaceful environments. Rowdy kids and chaotic situations make me nervous. • I’d do best in a home with no other pets or maybe one quiet, laid-back dog. I’m still learning to trust other dogs and understand that playing doesn’t always mean fighting. • I’m shy because I’m still figuring out who I can trust, but once I know you’re kind, I’m a loyal friend. • I’m a low-energy guy and don’t require much exercise. I’m perfectly happy with a walk and some time to do my business outside. • I enjoy sleeping in my crate, and I go in and out without issue. It’s my safe space. • I’ve never met a cat, so I’m not sure about them. • I am good with kids but need respectful, older children who understand my need for space and quiet time. A little extra about me: I’m nearsighted, so I don’t see very well sometimes, but it doesn’t bother me much. I can be picked up and carried, though I’m still getting used to it. I mostly like to relax, but who knows? Maybe I’ll start enjoying some playtime as I get more comfortable! What I’m looking for: I want a quiet home where someone is around more often than not. I need a family who is patient and understanding as I continue learning to trust. My ideal home would be calm, routine, and full of gentle love. I’m ready to spend my days lounging with you and being your loyal companion. I’m a little shy, but I know I have a lot of love to give. If you think you could be the right person to help me feel safe and loved, I can’t wait to meet you. Teddy has need neutered, is up to date on his vaccines and is microchipped. He had a dental cleaning. He is being fostered in St Thomas. Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/iE7ZF3uYLmcq2Lvt6

Story
Bella is another poodle mix needing a forever home. She is 3 years old, female, good with dogs, super sweet, and can be cat tested. Bella was found as a stray and upon examination by the vet, she needed surgery to remove a bladder stone. She has fully recovered and is waiting patiently for a family who won't abandon her again. A balanced raw diet is recommended to prevent future bladder stones. There is lots of moisture in the food and it's unprocessed. If interested, please email dcdgavel@gmail.com for an adoption application.

Story
Meet Ssari! Ssari’s journey began when she was spotted wandering along a busy four-lane road in March 2024, around 5-6 months old. We couldn’t resist stepping in to bring her to safety, and now she’s ready to find her forever home! When it comes to people, Ssari can be a little shy at first, but with a tasty treat, she quickly warms up and is happy to be petted. Occasionally, she’ll even approach and ask for affection right away, especially if she feels comfortable with someone from the start—this applies to men too! Ssari is gentle with children under 13 and handles interactions with them like a pro. She’s so trusting that she’ll even let you scoop her up by putting an arm under her belly. Ssari is equally charming with other dogs. She’s naturally social and enjoys introducing herself to new canine friends. She’s especially friendly with dogs her size or larger and does her best to avoid conflict, even when provoked. Whether it’s playtime or just hanging out, Ssari fits in beautifully with most dogs. On walks, Ssari is a delight. She’s calm and gentle, even when spotting cats, birds, or other animals. Her curiosity may draw her attention for a moment, but she’ll follow your lead without any fuss. While she hasn’t lived with cats before, her outdoor manners suggest she could adjust well with proper introductions. With a moderate energy level, Ssari is the perfect balance of playful and relaxed. She loves outdoor activities but settles down quietly once she’s back inside. Her leash manners are impeccable—she doesn’t pull and stays close by. Though she might get startled by sudden noises or surprises, she recovers quickly and stays by your side. Ssari is as easygoing as they come. She’s not protective over food, whether it’s with people or other dogs. If she’s feeling excited, she might express it with a few barks, but she’s otherwise a calm and well-behaved companion. She’s also crate-trained and incredibly comfortable traveling in one. As a bonus, she’s accustomed to doing her business outdoors. Ready to welcome Ssari into your life? She’s a sweet, well-rounded pup with so much love to give! ✨ AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ✨ Meatball | Male | 3 Years Old | Mixed Breed | Neutered | Vaccinated | Microchipped | Good with Dogs | No Cats | Good with Dog-Savvy Kids | Medium Energy Meet Meatball! Meatball is a fun-loving, playful pup with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This adorable goofball is full of charm, energy, and cuddles. He’s incredibly friendly, loves people more than anything, and is always ready to smother you with face kisses. Meatball’s playful and affectionate nature makes him the perfect companion for someone looking for a goofy best friend who also loves to snuggle. He’s medium-energy and happiest when he’s near his favorite humans. While he gets along well with other dogs, he’s more focused on his people and prefers to play with doggy friends after spending some time getting to know them. He even has a big, playful mastiff buddy he enjoys hanging out with! Meatball is smart and eager to learn, and while he currently knows “sit,” he’s still working on polishing his manners. He’s crate-trained and finds comfort in his crate, especially when left alone, as he’s still learning what’s okay to chew (shoes and wires are just too tempting for him right now!). Meatball has a curious nature and loves exploring the world around him, so he’ll need a cat-free home and someone ready to keep an eye on him around squirrels and other small animals. This lovable boy is looking for a family who will continue helping him build confidence and reinforce his good habits. If you’re ready for a playful, loving, and sometimes goofy pup, Meatball is ready to bring joy, laughter, and endless cuddles into your life!
