Coopie is a sweet girl who enjoys her pats and cuddles. She likes to lay down outside and loves to play with her ball. She can be very goofy and likes to rub and roll around. She can get scared around strangers but with guided reassurance she calms quickly. A bit of extra effort will be needed when meeting new people but once trust is built she loves to show her affection. She will need an adult family who can help her adjust to a new environment. She loves car rides and going on walks so if you are looking for an adventure partner she is your girl! History: Coopie came to us with her litter of puppies. Story
Cash loves toys and being outside. He is very sweet but can get anxious and will bark when meeting new people. Introductions should be slow and he should be in a home with only adult. He is great in the car and can be left home alone for extended periods of time. Cash is very smart. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows all his basic commands. He is a good walker and enjoys getting out for short walks. His ideal walk is between 10-20 minutes. Cash would make a great companion for an individual looking for a loyal k9 friend. Story
Butterfly (Luna) was found as a stray in a remote area of Manitoba and brought to the shelter by local police. She loves people of all ages although she definitely seems to prefer women. She loves being called a good girl. She is working on her training and very rarely has an accident in her crate. She is learning to walk on leash but still needs work on pulling. She does get scared when large trucks drive by and will pull to go see people and other dogs but in a friendly manner. Her favourite activities are playing fetch and cuddling. She is an energetic girl and loves to play with other dogs but can play rough. She will resource guard toys from other dogs but not food. Coming from a remote area she has never had her own toys so they are very high value for her. She enjoys her crate when it has comfy blankets inside and a blanket draped over top to feel safe. Luna is a friendly active girl who loves car and boat rides. She would make a great running or adventure partner for an active person or household. She really is a sweet girl and is going to make an amazing companion!! Story
Gizmo is approximately six years old and weighs 6.9 pounds. His original paperwork puts him at three years old however we think he is closer to six years old since he did already have to have a dental that we provide provided. Gizmo is a very sweet boy, but he is a scared and very shy boy. He is not a big fan of men and prefers to have a mature female home. Gizmo is very quiet, has good potty manners, is gentle, great with other dogs but really prefers other calm dogs, and he has good potty manners. He is terrified of change so he will need a couple days to settle into his new home and to decompress. However, he bonds very quickly to his new people. It may take a couple days for him to feel comfortable to walk on a leash and harness, but once he is bonded with his human, he walks perfectly on a leash right next to you and is a very good boy. He also loves car rides. He needs comfort, love, no small children, great with other animals (cats),soft voices, calm and quiet loving home. If he is frightened, or if a stranger is moving to fast he will air nip as if he was going to bite but this is only out of fear, and he does not actually bite. You just need to go slow and baby talk him, the first day we had to pick him, we picked him up with a blanket but by day 2 he was already coming to us for cuddles. Gizmo is currently in a foster and he adores his foster mom and grandma however is not a huge fan of grandpa, who is a very gentle soul himself and has been working with Gizmo, and Gizmo is getting better but still prefers the women in the home. He needs a little patience and some extra cuddles to gain some confidence but he is a good boy that has had a tough life this far. Gizmo was surrendered to the San Antonio animal shelter over a year ago and then he was adopted and then that person also gave him up. So he is scared, shy, he lacks stability and does not know what the next day is going to bring, and who can blame him really. Then he came to the ranch and then he went to foster. He really needs a stable home with somebody that can give him a good routine and a lot of comfort. We really feel for this little man 💕 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Click the link to apply to adopt https://texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org/adoption...
