Story
Glee ACCT-A-248042 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Glee must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, or ADOPTER by Thursday, May 14th, 2026 at 10AM. Should Glee’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
Glee is the kind of dog who makes people fall in love instantly. This handsome, affectionate boy has quickly become a favorite among staff and volunteers thanks to his goofy charm, sweet personality, and love of human attention. He’s the definition of a cuddle bug — the moment you sit down, Glee is ready to climb into your lap, lean into your legs, or flop over dramatically for belly rubs. Volunteers say he completely “melts” when being pet, rolling onto his side with soft eyes and wiggly body language, soaking up every ounce of affection he can get. He’s incredibly people-oriented and forms fast bonds with those around him, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend.
Glee is an easy dog to adore because he has such a fun balance of playful and snuggly. He enjoys toys, loves chasing tossed balls around the yard, and has a silly, swagger-filled walk that makes everyone smile. While he may not fully understand the concept of fetch yet — especially if snacks are involved — he’s always eager to engage and have fun with his people. He’s very food motivated, already knows “sit,” and takes treats gently once he settles in. Volunteers consistently describe him as easy to handle, affectionate, and eager to please. He rides beautifully in the car too, often falling asleep almost immediately and happily curling up close to his person for the ride. One day-trip foster described him as a “Velcro puppy” because he never wanted to leave their side.
Outside the shelter, Glee has shown just how wonderful he can be. During a day trip, he accompanied his foster to a bookstore where he calmly sat and laid down on command, showing off his ability to settle nicely in public settings. He’s been described over and over as a “very good boy,” “gentle baby,” and “perfection” by the people who have spent time with him. He’s tolerant of handling, easy to leash, and thrives on positive interaction and attention from his humans.
Like many shelter dogs, Glee can become overstimulated around other dogs, especially through barriers or while on leash, and he may bark or tense up when excited. However, he has also shown positive social potential with proper introductions and guidance. In playgroup, he appropriately greeted several dogs, relaxed after initial introductions, and even engaged in some playful interactions. Volunteers have also noted happy vocalizations and excitement around other dogs, suggesting he may simply need continued support learning how to channel his enthusiasm appropriately. Glee would likely benefit from an adopter willing to continue helping him build confidence and practice calm interactions.
At the end of the day, Glee is just a deeply loving, playful, affectionate dog who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He has so much personality packed into one adorable pup — from his goofy antics and toy-chasing zoomies to the way he leans his whole body into pets and belly rubs. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, keep you company on every adventure, and snuggle up beside you at the end of the day, Glee may just be your perfect match.

Per volunteer 5/10 : Glee lives up to his name. He was a happy guy in the play yard whether chewing on a stuffy or melting into your lap for affection.
He takes treats very gently.
Overall he seems like a wonderful dog.
Playgroup 5/9: Steerable with spray bottle (4/5), mildly with can (2/5). Was quickly overwhelmed by Asphalt's high-speed, up-close rowdy attempts at soliciting play and appropriately corrected him with a grumble and bared teeth. Vocal at gate toward Casca and Gutsy. Initially stiff greeting with Belly, but soon relaxed. Appropriately greeted Gutsy and Herman when they entered. Occasional bursts of tentative, hoppy push/pull play with Belly and Herman.
Per volunteer 5/8/26: Easy to leash and nice cadence as we walked outside. Glee has a swagger to his walk which is super cute. He sniffed along the way and took treats nicely. Glee “melted” when I pet his back- he rolled partially on his side and leaned into my legs so he could get some belly rubs too.
In the run, Glee noticed the other dogs nearby and whined and squealed with joy. The pups started to bark at each other, so I walked Glee to the other side which quieted him down as well as I found a toy. Glee chased and retrieved tossed toys for a good amount of out time in the run. While he had a ball in his mouth , I attempted to remove and he just kept wiggling in the grass with no other reaction. Such a playful and social dog. This was my first time meeting him and he seems like so much fun.
Per volunteer 5/3: I took Glee out tonight! He is just the cutest pup ever! Very affectionate and playful! Loves belly rubs. Easy to leash , walk and return to kennel
Per day trip foster 4/25/26: I wanted to provide an update on my time with Glee. He was absolutely wonderful!
During our outing, he saw his reflection in a door and became a bit vocal, though I am unsure if it was due to nerves or aggression, or simply curiosity. Otherwise, he was incredibly well-behaved. At the bookstore, he sat and laid down on command. While he was initially a bit overexcited about his treats (we got him some fries and chicken nuggets), he became very gentle once he understood what was expected of him.
Likes toys but doesn’t really understand that concept of fetch when there’s food nearby.
Glee also loves car rides. He falls asleep almost immediately and definitely prefers to be in the passenger seat. He is quite a "Velcro puppy" and slept on my lap the entire way to my house and back to the shelter.
Per staff 4/24/26: Meet Glee (ACCT-A-248042)! This sweet pup is a total lovebug who is looking for a home where he can get all the belly rubs he deserves. Known for being a "very good boy," Glee is incredibly chill and has a heart of gold. He is a total snuggle bug; in fact, it’s sometimes hard to get a photo of him because he wants to be right in your lap the moment you sit down!
Glee is very treat-motivated and already knows how to "sit." He takes his treats gently and is always eager to engage with his people. He can be an enthusiastic walker who pulls a bit on the leash, especially when he sees other dogs. He leans into pets with soft eyes and a happy, wagging tail. If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will be your best friend and personal shadow, Glee is ready to bring some joy into your life!
Per staff 4/23/26 (regarding dog meet with Labello): At the fence immediately stiff, vocalized with growling, tense, disengaged on own.
During the leash meet, carefully orchestrated sniffing opportunities which glee took- good boy! Was able to do brief face to face meet. He was straining at the leash a lot, tail would go to neutral when disengaged from

Per staff 4/23/26: Kennel Presentation: At the front of his kennel, ears back, soft eyes, loose body, mid level tail wags. Took a treat gently through the bars.
Leash Skills: Tried to push his way out of kennel when I opened the door. Tossed in a treat in the kennel and was able to leash him easily when he came back to the front from eating the treat. Pulled hard through the kennels. Walked through the kennels with his ears back, panting, mid tail. Pulls hard towards other dogs.
Sociability: Allowed all handling in the yard and leaned into pets with soft eyes, loose body, loose mid level tail wags, slightly open mouth, ears to the side. Very food motivated. Knows sit and takes treats a little snatchy so open palm is best!
Play: Tossed a few tennis balls, would chase them then loose interest.
Dog Interaction: Met Vinyl through the fence, hackles raised, tense body, mid level tail, hard barking. Unable to be redirected with treats. Once Vinyl got further away, started eating treats again. Face to face, pulling hard, tense body, hackles raised, ears back. Vinyl did not approach him so we tried another dog. Met Sabree through the fence, same body language as before, nipped at the fence.
Return to Kennel: Pulled hard walking back through kennels, same body language as walking out. Stopped right outside his kennel, hopped in for a treat. Leash was removed easily.
Color Level: Blue
Per volunteer 4/19: Glee is a wonderful dog. She is super snuggly and handler focused. She's yard to photograph because she's instantly in you lap. She is very treat focused and takes them very gently. Several dog meets through fence raning from indifference, to tails wags, to happy vocalization. Pretty good on leash.
