June Summer is the kind of dog that walks into a room like she's already friends with everyone in it. She has the happiest little wiggle butt, a smile that never seems to leave her face, and one of those personalities that's just plain fun to be around. Whether she's making new friends, hoping someone will toss her a toy, or simply bouncing over to say hello, June has this contagious happiness that makes you smile right along with her. She's the kind of dog that brings a little extra joy wherever she goes, and honestly, life just feels a little brighter with her around.

June is believed to be approximately 1 year old and currently weighs around 56 pounds. As with any rescue dog, her exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is she's a Pittie mix. Whatever combination created her also gave her a heart full of love, an endlessly happy personality, and a wiggle butt that's almost always in motion.
One of the first things you'll notice about June is just how much she loves people. She's friendly, outgoing, and genuinely enjoys being included in whatever is going on. Her foster says she's always happy to see everyone, and she's the type of dog that makes every visitor feel like an honored guest. She's currently fostered with two children, including a baby and a 10-year-old, and she's done wonderfully with both.
Like many happy young dogs, there are times when her excitement gets the best of her and that enthusiastic wiggle butt accidentally bumps into the baby, but that's simply something that comes with being a joyful young dog and is very manageable with continued guidance and training. Because she's already been living successfully with young children, we think June has wonderful potential to be an amazing family dog.
June is also dog friendly and currently lives with an older dog that's around 15 years old. While June would happily play all day if someone let her, her older foster sibling has made it very clear that those days are behind her. The nice thing is that June listens. If another dog tells her they're not interested in playing, she respects that and moves on without making a fuss. We really love that about her.
As social as June is, we've noticed she actually gravitates toward calmer, more polite dogs when she's meeting someone new. She doesn't seem to be looking for the dog that's immediately bouncing all over her wanting to become instant best friends. She'd rather take a little time getting acquainted before the play starts, and once she's comfortable, that's when her fun, playful side really comes out. Because of that, we think she'd do best with another easygoing dog that enjoys playing but also knows when it's time to relax. She also did well meeting larger and smaller dogs, although we'd recommend avoiding very tiny dogs that may not appreciate her playful enthusiasm.
June is currently fostered with six cats and has done well living alongside them. The resident cats mostly choose to keep their distance, but June doesn't chase them or bother them. During her assessment, she also met our house cat, Biggie, and surprised us by gently inviting him to play rather than being overly excited. We think she has wonderful potential to live with a confident, dog-savvy cat, and we'd be happy to arrange an overnight kitty sleepover for any adopters with cats at home.
June is already crate trained and sleeps quietly in her kennel each night. She also does well crated while her foster is at work. She's made great progress with potty training and has been very reliable on her current schedule. Like many dogs, if she's asked to hold it for an unusually long time, she may have an accident, but with regular potty breaks throughout the day, she's been doing wonderfully. June is treat motivated, eager to learn, and enjoys training sessions. She loves having something to work for and will happily accept treats while showing off what she's learning. We think she's the type of dog that's going to have a lot of fun continuing her training because she genuinely enjoys interacting with her people.
Because June has such a wonderful balance of playful energy and the ability to settle down afterward, we think she could do well in either an apartment with plenty of exercise and opportunities to get out and socialize or in a home with a fenced backyard where she can stretch her legs and play. More than anything, June just wants to be included in her family's life.
If you're looking for a dog that's happy, affectionate, social, and always ready to brighten your day, June is going to check a whole lot of boxes. She has the kind of personality that makes ordinary days feel more fun, the sweetest wiggle butt you've ever seen, and enough love to make every person she meets feel like they're her favorite. We have a feeling whoever adopts June is going to spend a whole lot of time laughing... and an even bigger amount of time wondering how they ever lived without her.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $1200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
