Story
Richie ' Sambora ' is what this Border Collie mix puppy should be called because he is so handsome and extra charming.  Born around April 1st, 5 months ago from 9/1, his mom was a 40 pound girl with 4 puppies who were all left outside in the harsh heat while their owner went on vacation.  No food, no water was left behind.  Soon Animal Control was there to take the sweet dogs in to the shelter for relief and care. Richie is 25 pounds and a very special boy.  He has very special eye coloring that gives him two different colored eyes that make him absolutely unforgettable.  This boy Richie has already figured out that those beautiful eyes have a way of melting hearts.  Look out ladies, this handsome boy knows exactly how to turn on the charm and if he played guitar like Sambora does with Bon Jovi, he would be dangerous. But underneath those gorgeous eyes is a sweet puppy who is learning that humans can be trusted and that life can be pretty wonderful.   He is almost housebroken, crate training is successful and he is good with all other dogs and cats as well.   We expect him to the same weight range as his momma, 40 pounds.  He is happy and curious and playful.  Working on his leash skills and he has had a great deal of guidance from his foster persons that have helped him the past few weeks.  If you would like to adopt this happy young pup please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  Mention where you live.  A fence would be an ideal situation for this boy to run free and with total safety to hang outside for hours.     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 31, 2026, 9:49 pm

Story
Blue is a five year old female Shar Pei with a soft blue grey coat, a serious set of wrinkles, and no idea at all how dignified she looks. She came to us as an owner surrender. She belonged to an elderly woman who could no longer care for her, so Blue has never known anything except a good home, and it shows in everything she does. She is house broken. She is microchipped. She walks into a room, greets whoever is standing in it, and settles. She was unbothered by her first day at the shelter and she likes every person she meets. Here is the one thing to know before you come see her. Blue has separation anxiety and it is real. Left alone overnight in a crate, she worked at getting out of it. A crate is not a workable tool for her right now, and a home where she would be alone for long stretches is not going to work for her either. After five years spent beside someone who was home all day, that makes sense to us. What she needs is people around. We are also looking for a home with previous Shar Pei experience, and that is a requirement rather than a preference. This breed comes with its own eye, skin, and temperament considerations, and we want Blue going home with someone who already knows them and is not learning them for the first time on her. Blue prefers not to live with other dogs, so she is looking for a home where she can be the only one. She has not been tested with cats or with children. To meet Blue, please email us first. We ask that an application be approved before a meet and greet is scheduled for her, so that we know the home fits what she needs before she is introduced to anyone. We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability. Email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com to set up a visit or learn more today.

Story
Jojo is a three year old female who is ready for a soft place to land. She came to us as an owner surrender. Her family hit a hard stretch and made the call to find her a better situation, and they were honest with us about her on the way out, which is exactly what helps a dog get placed well. Here is what we know for certain about Jojo. She loves other dogs. She has lived with children. She has lived with cats. Those are three of the hardest questions an adopter asks, and Jojo has already answered all three from real life. She is a submissive, gentle girl. She is not pushy and she does not demand anything from you. Everyone who spends time with her comes back saying the same thing, which is that she is just sweet. Jojo is brindle and white with a wide white blaze running up between her eyes and a freckled pink nose. We want to be honest with you about one thing. Jojo has been living outside and she came in with flea dermatitis. Her skin is under treatment and it is improving. She will go home needing a few more weeks of care, and after that she will be comfortable in her own coat, likely for the first time in a long while. We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 12pm to 4pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability. Story
🐾 Loving Home Needed for Rimmy 🐾 We are looking for a loving, responsible home for our sweet girl Rimmy. ❤️ Rimmy is approximately 4 years old and is a mixed breed with American Bulldog. She is house trained, up to date on her rabies vaccination, and great with kids. Rimmy has a calm, independent personality. She enjoys affection but also likes having her own space and spending time by herself, so she would do well with a family who understands and respects that. This is a very difficult decision for our family. With our growing family, kids, work, and busy schedules, we simply aren’t able to give Rimmy the time and attention she deserves. Our goal is to find her a safe, loving, permanent home where she can be well cared for and loved. 🐶 About Rimmy: * Approximately 4 years old * American Bulldog mix * House trained * Rabies vaccination up to date * Great with children * Independent and enjoys her personal space * Looking for a loving, stable forever home
