Now accepting applications for Freya! Freya is a 2-year-old spayed female boxer. Be sure to ready Freya's entire story before applying. If you are interested in meeting Freya please go to our website at www.mjhs.ca and click the Adopt tab, then Adoptable Animals and scroll to her beautiful face to submit your application. Once your application has been approved we will contact you to come spend some time with Freya to be sure she is the right fit for you. If after meeting Freya you decide she is not the dog for you, there is no obligation to complete the adoption process. We look forward to hearing from you! Freya is a beautiful girl who has just finished raising her pup. She is a protective and loyal companion, and due to her recent experience as a mother, she is still in the process of having her hormones level out. Because of this, Freya is not yet ready to meet other dogs and would thrive best as the only pet in her new home. As her hormone levels settle and she adjusts to not having to protect her pup she may be fine with other dogs. It took a few introductions, and lots of patience but she can share the yard with her foster mama's dog. In the house the dogs have been kept separate as Freya is a very protective mama. Freya finds young children a bit too unpredictable and would do best in a home with older or no children. She has a condition called lupoid onychodystrophy, which affects her nails, so she will need a family that is willing to manage her care with this in mind. Despite this, she is a spirited and loving dog who will bring immense joy, loyalty and all the hugs and snuggles to the right family. A family with patience to allow Freya the time she needs to settle in and adjust to her new life would be ideal. Freya thinks walks are tug of war with her leash instead of exercise, but is slowly making progress. She loves to cuddle and gives the best heart hugs ever! If you know boxers you know she has a quirky, funny personality that is sure to keep you entertained. Freya's adoption fee is $400, she is spayed, started on her vaccination schedule and microchipped. Can't adopt Freya yourself but still want to help?
