Story
A25725 Abuela is a brindle with white colored, approximately 5-year-old, 68-pound, spayed female, Mastiff mix. She entered the shelter as a stray on 02-15-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. Abuela is a timid and shy girl here in the shelter. She is still trying to figure out this shelter environment and why she is here. She hides in the back of her kennel and is still scared of all the shelter noise. Our staff says she is a sweet girl once you spend time with her, just scared right now. She was a little difficult to leash, as she kept moving back and ducking her head in fear. But once on the leash and outside she was very well behaved and great on our walks. She will need some training and doesn’t seem to respond to any commands. We are not sure right now if that is because she’s still unsure and scared or doesn’t really know any commands. We would recommend a home with no small children right now, just because how scared she is. We believe a patient owner will be pleasantly surprised by how loving and loyal she will become. She shows no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. Abuela will be a loving companion in her new forever home.

Story
A25726 Rodney is a black with white colored, approximately 4-year-old, 67-pound, neutered male, Mastiff. He entered the shelter as a stray on 02-15-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. Rodney is a friendly, but shy and timid boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to figure out this shelter environment and what is going on. He is shy when you first approach his kennel door and is a little head shy about the leash. Would probably do best with a harness for walks. He was a little difficult to leash and pulls hard while walking. He will need leash training as well as command training as he does not respond to any commands. He shows no interest in other dogs here at the shelter but came in with several other dogs. He would probably be best in a home with no small children. At least until he gets his confidence and more comfortable in his new home. Our staff says he is a big cuddler when you sit down with him and will lay his head on your lap while you pet him. Rodney will be a loving, loyal companion in his new forever home.

Story
A26156 Max is a brindle colored, approximately 3-year-old, 78-pound, neutered male, Mastiff / Pitbull mix. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 03-08-2025 due to the fact his new job requires travel, leaving him no time to care for Max. Max is a friendly, eager and excited boy here at the shelter. He is excited and happy when you first approach his kennel door and ready to come out and play. He loves people and will excitedly jump up on you for hugs and kisses. Our staff describes him as a gentle giant who loves people and wants all your attention. He was easy to leash but is a strong puller and will yank you around trying to see and smell everything. He will need leash training to be his best, but he is treat motivated and smart. He has had some training and will “sit” upon command, especially if you have a treat. He has a friendly interest in other dogs here at the shelter. The previous owner says he is house broken and has lived with children, but not dogs or cats. He further said that he was great with his kids, and he doesn’t mind other dogs. He does have a chicken allergy and will get very sick if he eats any. Max will be a fun-loving, loyal family member in his new forever home.
