Story
Joshua and his sisters, Joanna and Judith came to rescue having been found under a tree during a thunderstorm. Joshua was almost unresponsive and needed immediate medical care. While in rescue, this poor little guy has struggled with maintaining his weight and staying hydrated. He has also been diagnosed with seizure disorder requiring daily medication. He has scared his foster mom several times by trying to pass away. He has responded to all critical care interventions, and he is slowly getting stronger. He is simply the sweetest lil guy. Gives kisses and loves to be cuddled. Joshua is a long-haired tuxedo (almost an identical twin to his sister Judith). He is going to be a real heart breaker when he gets older.

Story
Bonded pair- $350 adoption fee for both TRIXIE AND PIPER Our precious cats have filled a special void in our hearts for many years and have given us lots of love and joy! With limited space in a small home and a growing family, we are looking to rehome these sweet girls to another family who can give them the attention and love they need. -For many years they have been our “first babies.” We had our “Table Tiger” and “Sugar Baby” before we adopted our own son two and half years ago. -We think they would be great with a couple without children or with a small family dynamic who has older school - aged children. -They love children but they do get overwhelmed with toddlers, aka “little humans” more easily. -Both of our cats have been accustomed to indoor living but also enjoy having an outdoor adventure spirit. It would be important to us that they live in a neighborhood that would allow this! -They have never lived with any other pets, but have had exposure being around backyard chickens. -Both struggle with hairballs and/or dirty butts, but not often and we’ve never had any health concerns. -Every vet visit, our doctor has said that both cats have a clean bill of health. Healthy ears, eyes, organs, skin, etc. -It’s a chore to brush them both, but when they’ve had a fresh hair-do, they love it tremendously. TRIXIE and PIPER are both long-haired domestic house cats. -Trixie is a beautiful orange with white gloves and white boots. -Piper is soft, solid white with sweet little pink ears and a pink tummy. Both are female and they were born in 2015. Trixie was our sweet little “foundling” who we found in our front yard one Sunday morning. We gave her a birth date of July 4, 2015 judging from her age at the time we took her for her initial vet appointment. Piper was born the runt of her indoor “solid-white” furry litter. We adopted her from a friend in January/February of 2016, but we know that she was born on September 7, 2015. Trixie is talkative, nosy and opinionated. She’ll come right up to you even if you’re the most non-cat loving person! She plops down in your lap at any moment's notice. She is definitely more nocturnal than her sister! She thinks she’s missing out on something if she can’t roam around at night. We have always said she’ll get the “late night crazies” sometimes and run in circles - but this is probably typical for a lot of cats. She’s not afraid to jump on you in the middle of the night as she is in this phase. She does scratch furniture but just very very minimally. We have never had any issues except for where she scratches occasionally in one spot on her favorite corner of the bed frame! ;/ Piper is so sugary sweet, and she’ll lick you to death. She loves “chasing rabbits” when she falls asleep on your lap while having belly rubs. She is much more timid with humans she doesn’t know. She has also been more skittish in the past couple of years - anxiety probably contributed to our very high energy toddler, who loves to give very rough affection. Nine times out of ten, she’ll sleep through the night at the foot of our bed, but she will have her late night roams around the house too occasionally. She hates being cold! She’ll pick anywhere warm and cozy to curl up for a nap! She does also scratch, but has only scratched at the door or on a wall when she wants to be fed or to be let outside. She’ll sometimes feel tough and think she’s a big cat. She’s still very much a kitten at heart and loves to play. She’ll pick a fight with her big sister out of jest but is quickly defeated. HEALTH AND PERSONAL INFORMATION: -NINE YRS OLD. -SPAYED and ID MICROCHIPPED. -NEVER DECLAWED. -FULLY VACCINATED AND RABIES UP TO DATE. -REQUESTING FOR CATS TO STAY TOGETHER. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test (Dogs) for animals over 7 months old, feline leukemia testing (cats) all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Betty Boop was so named because her sweet round face and big eyes reminds us of that old time cartoon character! She is so sweet and playful. She is quite shy of people, but can warm up with lots of dedicated time and attention. With the right person, she is capable of becoming a loving companion. She gets along with the large dog in her foster home and absolutely adores the other cats. She prefers the companionship of other cats, so some time in isolation with dedicated socialization efforts may be needed to fully develop a human bond. Lots of treats and interactive play are the keys to her heart. Rescued from dreadful conditions and near starvation she is bouncing back beautifully. She has the sweetest disposition. Still a little timid around unexpected noises and activity. But she is making great progress.Available for adoption from Kitty Kat Haven and RescueHoover, AL 35226205-302-8883

Story
Elana is an absolutely beautiful floof. She is very timid with new situations and people but tends to warm up after a day or two. Once she opens up, she is very playful and loves to cuddle in your lap for pets. She seems to be the calmest of her two sisters, Caroline and Bonnie. She will run up and check out the other cats in her foster home and has been friendly towards them. She has never been around dogs. As a kitten, Elana has tested positive for FIV. Kittens who test positive at this age are often testing positive because of antibodies they receive from their mother. As they age, these antibodies go away. By the time they are 5 to 6 months old, they test negative which means they never had FIV to begin with. The adoption fee will include the cost of a retest when she is 5 to 6 months of age. Even if she were to remain positive, FIV is not something to be afraid of. FIV+ cats can easily live with FIV negative cats. They live long healthy lives. You can read more about the truth of FIV in this article. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/blog/myths-and-truths-about-fivAvailable for adoption from Kitty Kat Haven and RescueHoover, AL 35226205-302-8883
