Story
Typhoon! This beautiful fluffy boy is learning to live in a house but is getting braver every day! He already has learned great house manners but is still acclimating to being around so many noises and movements. He is initially very timid and quick to hide, but absolutely adores pets and now will seek them out from you! He loves to be held, cuddled, and picked up, and while he has not yet figured out that he can take the initiative to ask for love, he is a very snuggly lap cat if you put him there. He is becoming more confident week by week as he gets more comfortable in his environment, but still very cautious to explore and skittish with sudden movements and noises. He will need patience, a safe hiding place or a cat tree to retreat to when overwhelmed, and a calm environment in his new home as he comes out of his shell. We are not sure how he does around children. When we got him, he was living around lots of other cats and was fine in foster with other kitties, so likely he will do fine with other nice cats who will welcome him. In his foster home, he is adjusting to being in the vicinity of calm dogs and seems to be doing fine with a slow introduction and a lot of time to get acclimated, but he hasn’t had direct contact yet. He will need a safe place to go outside and explore his own yard when he's bonded with his family and spring comes. He's a sweetheart who deserves the best family! In Anchorage. Call 720-563-7141

Story
Sabine is a beautiful sweet fluffy girl with mitts! She has a Maine Coonish look with her lush coat and big feet. She was abandoned outside when her person had to leave. And then she had kittens. She was a great mom but now it's her turn to have a life with love and fun. She is a young adult cat with a loving personality. So far she is not a fan of dogs but might do ok with a small or older dog. She would do well in a home with an older cat but would also be totally satisfied all by herself. She loves curling up and getting pets and being brushed. She loves to nap in cozy places and will purr when pet. She will even come when called if the house is quiet. She's so ready for a loving family to be her own and the chance to give back love and happiness in the home. In Anchorage. Call 907 980-8898

Story
Beau is a special little guy looking for a home. His all black with a fluffy coat. He is very good at keeping it tidy. He's probably about a year old, and still very playful like a kitten. He loves to wrestle and chase and play with toys. Beau was born in the wild, and he's still working out some of his wild ways. But he really likes people, and he knows where the food comes from. And that is a happy thing for him. He follows his foster mom everywhere and is always underfoot. But like a lot of cats, he doesn't yet like to be picked up. (It's possible, but he wriggles away). He's quite a tease, as he will roll over and show his fuzzy belly, but petting it is still off-limits. He is so adorable! Once settled into a loving home, Beau will blossom into a nice family cat. He does love to play with other cats and will need a playmate in his new family. He spends all of his time playing with his buddy and foster brother Tux. The resident cats in the foster home are grumpy so he and his friend race around and have great fun being the crazy kids. Beau is destined to win someone's heart and be their best little boy forever. He's in Anchorage. Call 907 980-8898

Story
Ziggy, the handsome, fluffy boy who’s ready to find his forever home! He is a big guy, weighing in at almost 13 pounds and rounded out with fluff! He’s all about love—he’ll rub your face and nuzzle your neck when he’s craving attention. This sweet boy has had a tough past. He spent months wandering the neighborhood on his own, neglected, matted, and skinny, until a kind neighbor took notice and gave him food, shelter, and care. Ziggy is finally getting the love he deserves, but he’s still searching for a home where he can thrive. While out on his own, Ziggy managed to sprain or strain his back. He was in pain and would not want to walk around at times. Rest and pain meds helped him recover so that now he is doing fine, racing around and playing like a normal cat. doing fine. But there is a possibility that he could tweak his back again in the future and may need another rest period and pain medication. He's a young energetic fellow and he has lots of fun ahead. Ziggy is likely best suited for a home where he can go safely outside and come back to his people for cuddles and love. He’s nervous around dogs but is getting used to the mellow dog in his foster home who doesn’t invade his space. He gets along great with other cats in his foster home. He plays chase and games with some of the kitties and has a great time. Another nice cat might be a good buddy for him with a slow introduction and a welcoming meow. If you're looking for a big, affectionate boy to join your family and be your loyal companion, Ziggy just might be the perfect fit! Contact us for more info on adopting this sweet guy. In Palmer. Story
Meet Copernicus (aka Dudley!) – The Big-Headed Survivor Copernicus has been through it all—living outside for years, escaping a foster home, and somehow surviving with his slow, cautious instincts. But despite his rough past, this smart, resilient cat is ready to settle down in a quiet, low-key home where he can feel safe and loved. Dudley isn’t one for chaos—he prefers a calm environment with patient humans who respect his space. He may take time to warm up, but once he chooses you, he’ll be right there, involved in whatever you’re doing. He’s low-maintenance, independent, and doesn’t have much kitten energy, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a relaxed, easygoing cat. His battle scars (including old ear hematomas) tell the story of a tough life, but they don’t stop him from enjoying his favorite thing in the world: having his ears scratched. It’s his love language. Copernicus could live with other cats, but he’s easily bullied, so he’d thrive best as the only feline in the house or with another easy going cat. He’s likely fine with calm dogs as long as they respect his space. We think he's a mid-age adult boy, maybe 6 or 8 years old. If you’re looking for a cat with a big head, a bigger heart, and a history worthy of legend, Copernicus is your guy. Anyone would be lucky to have him. Story
Jason is an outgoing and overly affectionate boyfriend cat with abandonment issues. He is literally the best thing ever. He was found with a group of cats by a dumpster in Anchorage. After all these cats were trapped, it became apparent that Jason was not like the others. Jason needs to be with people. He has a lot to say about everything, constantly telling you where he is and checking to see where you are. With this cat, you will never have to pee, shower or walk anywhere in your house by yourself ever again. No lap is safe from this giant purring flood. He is also a licenced, professional cuddler. He's received glowing reviews from roommates and guests. " This cat is better than Prozac and a weighted blanket"- Nik "Why does he keep following me? And purring? And rubbling his face on my legs? Why am I picking him up? Uh oh.... Is this what love is?" - Barry " Um, that's a dog" - John And from his foster mom- " Someone needs to adopt this cat right now or I'm going to foster fail. I never foster fail." Jason is a big boy. He has a big head and giant paws. If I had to guess his ancestry, he's probably got ragdoll or snowshoe in him. He has established healthy mutual respect with the dogs and resident cranky cat. He does still have a touch of wild, and plays pretty rough. He will do best with a cat friend, could probably cohabitate with a dog, and would love a bit of outdoor space. The more time with people he could get, the better. Jason is amazing, but if you are considering adopting him, be prepared for an overly affectionate and annoyingly talkative cat. We think he is probably around 2 or 3. But maybe 5. He's in Anchorage. We took Shadow in from a friend to see if he'd be a good fit, but unfortunately we'll be out of state for most of the year. We don't want to leave him alone at the house, so we're hoping he can find a home that can give him the care he needs.

Story
Kitty is a queit girl who tucks herself away when things are a little loud and stressful. She is very sweet but will need a moment to get to know you a little better! Kitty was a family cat before arriving to the shelter. She has done well with children and is accepting of pets. She does not enjoy being held and carried around though! Overall, Kitty has done well with other cats and dogs but is shy and may avoid them. She loves to be with her people but appreciates when things are quiet and when people use their indoor voices! Her favorite spot is next to her people and she will snuggle under the covers with you. If you feel that your home would be a good fit for Kitty we would love for you to meet her!

Story
Lulu is a sweet and affectionate kitty with her people. She can become stressed with change or when in new environments, so you can imagine that she is feeling a little stressed with being in the shelter. Overall, Lulu has done well with dogs but it is not known how she does with other cats. Though Lulu has been respectful towards dogs in the past we do believe they stressed her out which resulted in her trying to avoid them and having litter box issues. Lulu has been on her best behavior during her time in the shelter but it is important for her new family to give her time to adapt to her new home! Lulu may be happiest in a home that isn’t so busy with other animals. Lulu is a lap cat or couch potato if you will. She loves to snuggle and appreciates spending quality time with her people. She has done well with children. When she is feeling playful, toy mice are her favorite! We want nothing more than to set Lulu up for success. If you feel that your home would be a good fit for Lulu, we encourage you to come by and meet her!
