Story
Meet Penny, a sweet and affectionate senior cat looking for her forever home. Penny loves a calm and peaceful environment, where she can relax and enjoy her golden years in comfort. She's not a fan of loud noises or chaos, so she'd do best in a quiet home without young children. She can also be a little nervous of certain handling around her head due to some issues she had with her ears, and may let her displeasure be known with a little nip if her boundaries aren't respected. Penny is independent and likes things her own way, but once she feels comfortable, she's sure to bring a lot of warmth and companionship. She loves to be brushed which is important with her long fur coat and will rub and purr against you in happiness when she wants attention. She'll also find the comfiest places to have long cat naps. Penny is looking for someone special to spoil her in her senior years. Could it be you?**PENNY IS NOT QUITE READY TO GO HOME AS SHE IS RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE. Potential adopters can speak to staff for more information. It is important, particularly for a senior animal, that regular vet checks are done. If you are interested in adopting, please apply in person at the animal centre during public hours, or online at the link below. https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 5.9 Age: 11yrs 11mths 3wks

Story
Cedar is a large, long-haired, striking black cat looking for a quiet and loving home. Though he has a sweet and gentle nature, he can be fairly shy and a bit fearful at first, hissing or growling if he's scared and uncomfortable. Given time to adjust in his new place he will soon be seeking all the pets and attention he can get.As a stray we don't know Cedars history but he came in with multiple wounds over his body likely from another cat or animal attacking him, so he's had a rough go of it. He is best suited for a quiet, adult home without children and no other cats. We're not sure how he would do with dogs but may just be best as the only animal in the home so he can feel completely at ease and lord about his domain with his royal coat of fur. With his long fur and history of being attacked outside, it would be best for Cedar to be an indoor only kitty and his adopter will need to regularly brush his coat to keep him looking magnificent. If you're patient, understanding, and able to provide the quiet space Cedar needs, he will make a loyal and affectionate companion. Cedars wounds are still healing so he isn't ready to be offically adopted just yet but local adopters may have the option to do foster to adopt. Ask SPCA staff for more info.
