NOTE: As these are a bonded pair and will be going to the same home together, you need only apply once. No need to submit duplicate applications :)Introducing the magnificent Tom and Cherry!A recent surrender, these big kitties came to us after their former owner could no longer care for them. Now, they are patiently awaiting their forever home!Cherry is a certified cuddle bug and loves meeting new people! Outgoing and chatty, she'll be the first to greet you and the last to leave. Her favourite pastime is pestering people for pets, and lounging, belly up, on the floor. We adore her larger-than-life personality and hope she never looses that special spark! What she could lose, however, is a bit of weight. She's currently on a weight management diet, and will benefit greatly with a forever family willing to foster healthy weight loss through play and exercise.Like his sister, Tom is overweight and will need to be on a weight management diet. Active play and exercise is encouraged to further promote healthy weight loss. Understandably, Tom isn't as thrilled about shelter living. He's reluctant to come out of his cat tower, and sometimes takes his frustration out on Cherry. Despite these challenges, we strongly believe he'll improve in a proper home where he has room to stretch his legs and explore. His former owner described him as laid-back, friendly, and independent. He simply prefers to do things on his own time. Tom enjoys head and chin scratches, and even permits a quick brushing session on good days. His favourite thing to do is sleeping peacefully in his tent.***Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Tom and Cherry's person/people? Apply today!TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting! Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kittens are not available for viewing as they are often in foster homes for health & safety reasons. Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be contacting select individuals to further review their interest. If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Primary Color: Grey Tabby Weight: 8 Age: 10yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
🍂Meet Birch!🍂Sweet Birch boy has had a bit of a rough start to life. Now in our care, he's learning that humans and their affections are not so bad, and is coming around to his lovebug potential. He's slow at first, but with patience, time, and love he could be your very own lap-warmer.We think a home with an established, confident cat could help him come out of his shell, and/or parents with experience and patience for nervous kitties.Did Birch plant his roots in your heart? Apply below! Please note: Birch is awaiting a neuter. Any potential adopters would be 'Foster-to-Adopt' until the surgery, and would need to bring Birch to and from the appointment. For adoption applications:1. Submit an online application and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit. Kindly note that due to the high number of applications, we will only be contacting suitable potential adopters to further review their interest.OR2. Visit the Surrey BC SPCA at 16748 50 Ave, to meet Birch to learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person. If you are invited to meet Birch please come prepared with a cat carrier as we do same-day adoptions if the meet goes well. We recommend being prepared with a litter bin, litter, food and water dishes, and toys before bringing your new family member home.
